About Unika Kungsgatan

Unika Kungsgatan is an LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) service residence located in central Uppsala. The facility supports 12 individuals with individually adapted daily support based on their needs, abilities, and goals. We strive to create safety, participation, and independence, while giving each individual the opportunity for a meaningful daily life and good quality of life.

The residence is centrally located with easy access to public transport, activities, and community services, creating excellent opportunities to work on social participation and active interventions in daily life.

About the Role of Support Assistant

As a support assistant, you will provide individually adapted support to people with disabilities, with the goal of promoting their independence and well-being in daily life. You will support the residents in their daily routines and activities, based on their needs and abilities, always using their personal implementation plan as a starting point.

We work with a salutogenic and pedagogical approach, focusing on each individual's unique strengths and resources. The goal is for the residents to achieve as much independence as possible and to live a meaningful life with a high quality of life. As a support assistant, you will work using clarifying pedagogy and low-affective interaction to create safety and predictability in the residents' daily lives. At the same time, we focus strongly on working professionally and efficiently within the organization's resources and budget.

The role includes shifts during daytime and sleeping on-call duties. Sleeping on-call is therefore a natural part of the position and should not be a barrier for applicants. The work is performed both independently and in collaboration with colleagues.

Qualifications

You are relationship-building, calm, stable, and able to maintain a realistic perspective on situations that arise in daily work. You have good collaboration skills, relate to others in a listening manner, and enjoy working with others. You are an independent, humble, and responsible person who is passionate about care work and can recognize the needs of the individual.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements:

  • Very good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.
  • Good computer skills, experience with documentation.
  • Experience working in healthcare and social care.
  • Upper secondary education such as Child and Youth Program, Care and Health Program, or post-secondary education such as Support Pedagogy, Social Pedagogy, or university-level education in a relevant field.

Merits if you additionally have:

  • Experience in psychiatry, AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), and low-affective interaction.
  • Experience working with complex support needs.
Employment Conditions

Employment Type: Summer temporary position
Working Hours: Daytime and sleeping on-call
Start Date: July 17 – August 9, with possibility of extension.
Collective Agreement: We are bound by the collective agreement with Kommunal, Sector E.
