Spandelstorpskolan is looking for a Special Education Teacher to our expanded Studio activity

Spandelstorpskolan is a preschool to grade 6 school with approximately 350 students. We have had a well-developed resource work for several years, including the activity we call "The Studio". During the current school year, 25-26, changes occurred as Spandelstorpskolan received all students from grades F-6 from Lyckeby Kunskapscentrum and from grades 4-6 from Kättilsmålaskolan. This has been part of our plan to expand our resource activities and to change our Studio activity. You now have the opportunity to be part of this expansion and change.

At Spandelstorpskolan, there is a well-experienced Student Health Team with approximately 1.5 positions as school nurse, 2.0 positions as special needs teachers, 1.0 position as counselor, and an established psychologist contact from Central Student Health. From autumn 2026, we are thus expanding with 1.0 special education teacher/special needs teacher.

During the current school year, we have started renovating/adapting the cafeteria as this can be a challenging environment for many students. During the upcoming school year, we will carry out a renovation of the schoolyard, which will include more alternatives for activities, both active and more quiet ones. This is because we want all students to experience that there is a break/recreation environment that suits them.

Job Responsibilities

You will work in our Studio activity, teaching students in need of special support in grades F-6. You will also work with assessing students' need for special support, mentoring teachers, and documenting in accordance with national and municipal guidelines. You will collaborate closely with the Student Health Team (EHT), the Studio team, class teachers, other educators, and guardians. You will collaborate with other agencies such as Habilitation Services, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP), and Central Student Health.

Qualifications and Merits

• Teacher certification with eligibility as a primary school teacher within the range of grades 1-6 and eligibility as a special education teacher/special needs teacher is a requirement.
• We prefer that you have certification as a special education teacher with a focus on mathematics.
• Meritorious if you have eligibility and/or experience in assessment using tools such as Logos, ITPA, "Understanding and Using Numbers", CAS-2, or other tools.
