DUTIES

Area:

• Adult Education – Bjuv Learning Centre
• Counselling Centre, Bjuv
• Basic and upper secondary adult education as well as vocational training (vocational adult education)

Duties:

• Coordinate, develop, and ensure the quality of study and career guidance within adult education.
• Counsel existing students in adult education towards further studies or employment.
• Be responsible for and coordinate admissions processing within basic and upper secondary courses as well as vocational training, together with fellow SYV colleagues.
• Together with the principal, be responsible for establishing, following up, and revising individual study plans.
• Prevent dropouts from adult education.
• Together with the principal, be responsible for course offerings and structure at basic and upper secondary levels as well as vocational training.
• Provide support to the principal and the organization in strategic matters concerning study offerings, resource allocation, and student flows.
• Collaborate with the principal, administration, pedagogical staff, and external actors regarding transitions, study planning, and working life.
• Together with the principal and administration, be responsible for handovers from graduating schools and other operations.
• Promote study and career guidance in a broad sense and support pedagogical staff in integrating guidance as part of teaching.
• Actively participate in the development work of the Counselling Centre.

QUALIFICATIONS

To succeed in the role of Study and Career Counselor with us, you should either have a completed degree in study and career counseling, or be at the end of your education, preferably with previous experience in the field.

You need to be driven, think broadly, be able to see issues from different perspectives, and be flexible and open.

The position of study and career counselor within adult education with a coordinating function has a clear focus on lifelong learning, where adult students' experiences, previous studies, and life situations form the basis for guidance. The goal is for every student to receive support in making well-founded and sustainable decisions regarding future studies and working life.

The work is characterized by close and trusting relationships with students, both in individual guidance and in groups, as well as close collaboration with the principal, teachers, and other staff. As a coordinating SYV, you play a central role in creating structure, consensus, and quality in the guidance work within adult education, while simultaneously working operationally with guidance and administrative tasks.

You work both strategically and practically in matters concerning admissions, study planning, course offerings, and transitions, and are an important resource in the development work of the operation. Through your coordinating role, you contribute to equity, transparency, and quality for adult learners in Bjuv Municipality.

Together with your colleagues, you work towards the common goal of offering independent, professional, and equal guidance for the students at Bjuv Learning Centre.

The position may be restructured if necessary. Interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.
