The role of the Educator

The overarching purpose and goal of the role is for our participants, with the help of individually adapted pedagogical support (IPSU), to become independent and complete educational initiatives with a passing grade.

We are looking for an educator for a part-time hourly position in Borås. The position is part-time, but there may be an opportunity for full-time work.

As an educator, you support individual participants who have a disability and are attending courses through the Swedish Public Employment Service (Arbetsförmedlingen). The support takes place in the specific areas where the participant needs help, i.e., through pedagogical interventions and work with assistive devices. Based on the needs in the educational situation, IPSU is tailored with the right competence, pedagogical interventions, and assistive devices for each participant. You work with the participants at the educational sites. Travel to the various educational sites occurs.

You are part of a team together with other educators in the surrounding area, as well as specialists and coordinators. To thrive in this role, you feel comfortable working independently with participants, are solution-focused, and flexible. Communication, feedback, and building good relationships with participants, colleagues, customers, etc., come naturally to you.

Qualifications

Work Experience

• Documented experience working with people with disabilities in an educational setting for at least 1 year. This means you have experience as a teacher, teaching assistant, student assistant, or similar role in a school environment.
• Documented experience working with cognitive aids in an educational setting for at least 1 year, i.e., that you have used assistive devices in your work with students.

The work experience must be certified with a letter of reference from previous employers.

Educational Requirements

Relevant education in pedagogy and/or working with people with disabilities. Proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.
