The Education Department is responsible for preschools, primary schools, after-school centers, upper secondary schools, adult education, as well as child and student health services. Approximately 1,100 employees work here, creating a secure and developmental school and childcare environment together.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a native language teacher in Romani, you meet students based on their individual needs and prerequisites. You teach both the language and Romani culture. You have a holistic view of student learning and a curiosity for using language-developing working methods. The work also involves collaborating and developing your work together with other national minorities and colleagues at the Native Language Unit. The assignment includes planning, implementing, and documenting teaching in the form of assessment and grading based on the curriculum for the subject of native language with students of various ages.

Here, you will belong to a large work group. This means you need to be cooperative and creative. You work both independently and together with others to find good solutions in different situations. You also need to be structured and plan your work based on existing guidelines, but be flexible to adjust when necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • You have Romani Lovari and/or Gurbeti as your native language and are engaged in work with national minorities with a special focus on Romani culture.
  • Education in Swedish equivalent to Swedish as a Second Language at the upper secondary level is meritorious. The language in question must be your native language.
  • Knowledge of the Swedish school system and the role of teachers in Sweden, as well as experience using digital tools and working in various digital systems, e.g., Google environment and Office.
  • Swedish teacher certification or other pedagogical education in Sweden is meritorious, as is experience in native language teaching or other pedagogical work with children or young people in Sweden.
  • A B driver's license facilitates communication between schools.

Salary: Monthly salary.
Employment type: Permanent position.
Working hours: Daytime. The position is primarily conditional for Tuesdays, 20%. Another weekday, 10%.
