Job Responsibilities

Mönsterås Municipality is looking for a companion to support individuals with functional variations. In this role, you will accompany a man living in Mönsterås to and from various activities and participate in leisure activities specified in the assignment. The activities may include visits to the gym and swimming pool, as well as social outings such as going downtown, watching a movie, dining at a restaurant, or having coffee. You may also accompany him to hospital visits. It is important that you are willing to engage in these activities together to create a meaningful experience.

Qualifications

We are looking for a man for a companion role for a man in Mönsterås. You should have stable family circumstances, be between 25 and 50 years old, and have good communication skills in Swedish. It is important that you are social and want to be a support for others, as well as being sensitive to the individual's needs and experiences. You should also have an interest in societal issues, exercise, and swimming. Previous experience in human-service professions and experience with various functional variations are meritorious. A fundamental view of humanity that respects the equal value of all people and counters discrimination based on skin color, age, gender, or sexual orientation is crucial.

What We Offer

The assignment covers four hours per week and can be performed during the day, in the evening, or on weekends in consultation with the individual. Compensation is provided as an hourly wage. As a companion, you always pay for your own expenses, such as coffee and entrance tickets. However, you will receive reimbursement from the municipality for these outlays upon presentation of receipts, and wages are paid based on hours worked upon presentation of a time report.
