We are looking for a substitute for our current supervising deacon who will become the diocesan deacon in the Diocese of Lund. Are you a deacon who thrives in multicultural contexts, are you driven and enjoy being at the forefront, and do you have a desire to develop the diaconal work? About the position

Gustav Adolf Parish is at a stage where we seek to develop our work based on society's ongoing rapid changes.

The position involves

• identifying and developing operations from both an active and reactive perspective based on the needs we encounter.
• identifying and developing proactive operations aimed at countering exclusion and mental ill-health, to demonstrate the possibilities for community and meaning-making contexts.
• working in all operations based on the parish instruction's three priorities: children and youth, voluntary staff, and networks.
• supervising the diaconal work team.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who

• wants to be a supervisor and has the qualifications for the task.
• is ordained as a deacon in the Church of Sweden, is open, transparent, and curious, and has the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• has a big heart for the church, meets people with care, and conveys hope, regardless of life situation.
• is comfortable in digital environments and sees communication as an important prerequisite for good collaboration.
• is interested in working in socioeconomically disadvantaged areas.
• is a bridge-builder who is both solid and reflective in daily work.

About us

The Helsingborg Pastorate consists of three parishes: Gustav Adolf, Raus, and Maria, which collaborate with each other. Gustav Adolf Parish stretches from the city's coast, Oceanhamnen, to the ring road Österleden, east of the city. The parish has approximately 53,000 residents, of whom about 14,700 are church members. We exist in a multicultural environment, which brings diversity, not least in the worshipping congregation.

In Gustav Adolf Parish, we are a work team of approximately 30 people, including 5 deacons, plus many voluntary staff members. The parish has four churches with associated meeting spaces: Den Gode Herdens kyrka, Adolfsbergskyrkan, S:t Olofs kyrka, and Gustav Adolfs kyrka.

We are environmentally certified and work for a sustainable operation. Although the bus network and cycle paths in Helsingborg are well-developed, a driver's license is an advantage.
