In Guldheden, Gothenburg, lies Föräldrakooperativet Polarna, a small preschool with great commitment. Here, there is a group of 17 children and a work team consisting of two nursery assistants, two preschool teachers, and an active principal.

At Polarna, we give the children time. Here, there is the opportunity to work closely with the children, build secure relationships, and see each child's needs. We often work in smaller groups and base our activities on the children's interests, play, and curiosity. We work on projects with different themes and let the group's interest and needs dictate the theme. We make regular trips to the forest, library, theaters, and other places in the local area and Gothenburg.

We are a parental cooperative where staff, the principal, and parents have close cooperation with clear responsibilities and roles. The parents are engaged in the cooperative's board and are responsible for cleaning, outdoor environment, and indoor environment, while the educators and principal are responsible for the pedagogical daily life with the children.
