Säteriskolan is a primary school (grades F–6) with approximately 280 students, located in a natural setting by Rådasjön.

Safety is a foundation for learning with us. We work systematically and long-term with common structures and active value-based work to create study peace and good relationships. In grades F–3, we work with PAX, and in grades 4–6, we develop our work through PBIK, while the entire school has for several years worked based on PALS.

The school health service plays a central role, and we work closely together to identify needs early and provide the right support. The school counselor has, among other things, worked with "Life-Saving Chats" and thematic initiatives regarding mental health in the intermediate grades. The school health team includes, in addition to the counselor, a special needs educator, special teacher, social pedagogue, school nurse, school psychologist, and the two principals of the school.

Our students have different backgrounds and prerequisites, which makes the assignment varied and requires conscious and structured school health work. Here, you have the opportunity to contribute to and further develop the school's work for safety and well-being.

Your Assignment

We know that a good school counselor makes a difference – for real. In the meeting with students and guardians, in collaboration with colleagues, and in the work for a safe school where everyone gets to succeed.

We are now looking for you who want to be part of this work with us at Säteriskolan.

As a school counselor, you work promotively, preventively, and remedially at the individual, group, and organizational levels. You conduct supportive conversations with students, both individually and in groups, and work actively with social processes in classes, for example within value-based work, conflict management, and group development. You are responsible for investigations regarding absenteeism, school social situations, bullying, and participate in USS (Student Welfare Service).

You are an important support for educators in the work with students' social development and contribute with supervision and consultation in matters concerning approach and inclusive learning environments. If necessary, you also have conversations with guardians and offer support and guidance in matters concerning the student's situation. As part of the school health team, you bring psychosocial competence to the interdisciplinary work and participate in mapping and analyzing students' needs.

The work also involves collaboration with external actors such as social services, UPH (School Health Service), and BUP (Child and Adolescent Psychiatry). You participate in student cases, document according to current guidelines, and independently conduct and participate in investigations as well as in the school's systematic school health work.

You are part of the municipality's network for counselors and have regular professional meetings and supervision sessions.

Requirements for the Position

We are looking for you who:

• have a degree in social work. In some cases, other education that the employer deems equivalent may also be approved. For education other than a social work degree, documented experience in psychosocial work with children and young people is required.
• have good knowledge of the school health service's mission
• have experience in counseling and psychosocial work with children and young people
• have good knowledge of ADHD/Autism (NPF)
• have the ability to work both independently and in a team

It is meritorious if you have:

• experience as a school counselor
• experience in school health work
• experience in collaboration with social services, UPH, BUP, etc.
• knowledge of documentation systems (e.g., Prorenata)

To obtain employment, an extract from the Police Register must be presented. An extract from the suspicion register may also be required depending on the position.
