Broad String Teacher for Nässjö Culture School

At Nässjö Culture School, we value differences and believe that diversity contributes to a safe, creative, and developmental environment. Together, we work to awaken children's and young people's curiosity, creative drive, and cultural expression, and to develop the culture school of the future in Nässjö.

Here, dedicated educators who are passionate about their subject and the right of children and young people to culture work together. We offer a collaborative work environment with engaged colleagues and meaningful assignments, where you have the opportunity to make a difference.

Nässjö Culture School consists of approximately 16 employees and reaches around 500 students through teaching, concerts, performances, and other cultural experiences. We offer activities within music, dance, theater, and visual arts, striving to create accessible and inclusive forms for participation and personal creation. The culture school is centrally located and has fresh, nice premises where you have your own teaching room. In our premises, we have our own orchestra hall where rehearsals, much like concerts, take place during the week.

The teaching within our core operations is primarily scheduled for early afternoon and evening.

Welcome to a small but dynamic culture school where engagement, collaboration, and a desire for development are at the center.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a broad string teacher, we see that you have primary responsibility for teaching cello as well as good knowledge of other string instruments within the family and another secondary instrument. With us, you meet children and young people in their musical development. You teach students individually and in groups, with teaching adapted to age, level, and individual prerequisites.

You share responsibility for three to four dedicated string ensembles together with your colleagues.

The position also includes working together with a colleague on the basic course in grade 2, where you meet students at an early stage and awaken curiosity for string instruments through joyful and accessible methods. This takes place during the autumn with a concluding concert at the beginning of the spring semester.

QUALIFICATIONS

We see that you have post-secondary music education with a focus on string instruments, for example from a university college of music, culture school pedagogical education, or other education that the employer considers equivalent. We see that you have good pedagogical competence and experience in teaching children and young people. You also have good ability to conduct teaching individually and in groups.

We would appreciate it if you had experience of or good knowledge of ensemble and orchestra activities within a culture school or similar operations. You have the ability to create and maintain good communication and collaboration with students and guardians, as well as to provide feedback on student development in a clear and professional manner.

Meritorious are experiences of working in socioeconomically disadvantaged areas as well as outreach and open activities. You collaborate well with colleagues within the culture school and participate in joint planning, projects, and concerts. You are expected to be engaged in the development of the operations, both pedagogically and artistically, and contribute to a safe, inspiring, and inclusive learning environment.

We apply continuous selection and appointment may take place before the advertisement period expires.

Salary: Monthly salary.
Employment type: Permanent employment.
Working hours: In the position, most of the teaching is conducted after school hours and in the evenings, with the exception of the basic course in grade 2 which takes place during the day.
