Job Description

As a Family Therapist in Östhammar Municipality, you have the opportunity to work in several areas where you can be involved and influence the work. Family therapists within the municipality conduct child counseling, provide conversation support to custodians, and also meet with victims of violence and perpetrators. Family counseling is also offered within the outpatient care. The work is carried out in close collaboration with internal and external partners.

We work preventively, strengtheningly, and therapeutically. The assignments come from Social Services in the form of benefit decisions and via service entrance, meaning that young people and families themselves contact outpatient care based on a need for support and help.

The position involves working with advisory and support conversations, group activities, and traditional family therapy. As a family therapist, you work individually and independently but also together with colleagues to achieve set goals for children, young people, and their parents.

In outpatient care, in addition to family therapists, there are also home therapists, personal advocates, youth pedagogues, addiction therapists, and adult pedagogues. Based on assignments, you will collaborate with colleagues within outpatient care as well as other actors who are important for the youth and the family.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a social worker or have a university degree in behavioral science, social work, or another university education that we find equivalent. You should have experience in parental support work and individual change work. You are therefore well acquainted with the case handling requirements and legislation that govern the operations. If you have previously worked as a family therapist and/or with addiction treatment, it is meritorious, as is if you have basic step 1 training or other further education at university level within social therapeutic work. It is desirable if you are trained in MI, COPE, Safer Children, Conversations about Violence, and/or Post-child interview.

We would like you to master the business system Viva, and for the job, you also need to have a category B driver's license and be able to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
