Are you passionate about understanding the mechanisms behind financial instruments while having a natural aptitude for how data is structured, flows, and controlled? Swedbank is in an exciting expansion phase where they are now strengthening their domains for Capital Markets and financial instruments. We are looking for you who want to combine your analytical sharpness from studies in, for example, financial mathematics or technical physics, with a genuine interest in data management.

About the Role

You will join the Market Data team, part of Capital Optimisation, where they work closely with trading and risk management to strengthen the bank's data foundation. As a Data Steward, you will play a key role in structuring and governing the team's financial data to enable better decision-making and automation across the bank.

You will be part of a team of 5 people and a consultant responsible for service ownership of platforms and data feeds.

Responsibilities

The role of Domain Data Steward involves structuring and managing critical data within financial instruments to enable better decision-making and efficiency in the bank.

  • Define and maintain data definitions and governance for critical data elements.
  • Analyze and document data flows (lineage) in systems supporting pricing, risk, and PnL.
  • Establish and implement data quality rules in collaboration with the business and system owners.
  • Collaborate with Trading, Quant Team, Finance, Risk, and IT to increase transparency.
  • Initiate work on large and complex domains for financial instruments, currencies, and derivatives.
  • Contribute to the implementation of data products that enable advanced analytics and automation.

We are looking for someone who

  • Has a university degree in finance, data science, computer science, or economics.
  • Has a basic understanding of data governance and data management.
  • Has a good understanding of financial instruments such as bonds, equities, currencies, and derivatives.
  • Has strong analytical skills and an interest in complex data structures.
  • Can communicate fluently in Swedish and English.
  • Has good knowledge of SQL, data analysis, and data modeling.

It is an advantage if you have

  • Courses in financial mathematics.
  • Experience working with data governance or data quality requirements.
  • Knowledge of platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or specific trading systems like Calypso.
