Temporary Teachers for Lerum Municipality Schools and After-School Care – Autumn Term 2026
Lerum Municipality is known for its beautiful nature with lakes and forests. The municipality has 3,200 employees and 43,000 residents, but expects significant growth in the coming years. Lerum is located just a 20-minute drive from Gothenburg and is currently facing a period of intensive development with many exciting projects underway, ranging from schools to housing. The municipality works to ensure good service, high welfare, and a thriving business climate.
Furthermore, Dagens Samhälle has recently named Lerum the winner in the category of large city municipalities (2025) – an award based on a comprehensive comparison of 290 Swedish municipalities regarding schools, healthcare and social care, economy, culture and leisure, attractiveness, business life, and future factors such as digitalization and civil preparedness. We are now a Super Municipality!
About the Position
We are looking for temporary staff for the autumn term 2026 at Lerum Municipality’s primary schools and after-school activities. If you are interested in starting work before the summer, this is also an option.

How it works:

- You indicate your availability for work in our digital booking system, where you can also express interest in specific shifts.
- As a temporary staff member, work assignments can vary from day to day, and you may work in different schools throughout the municipality.
- Working hours are during the day on weekdays.
30 positions available.
Responsibilities
You are a secure and positive role model for our students, supporting them in both their learning and social development. You act with calmness, responsibility, and judgment even in challenging situations, showing the way by being stable, clear, and consistent in your interactions.
By being actively present, you guide and motivate students in their schoolwork, participate in their activities, and contribute to a secure and structured environment. You help create a conducive study atmosphere, set clear boundaries, and build good relationships through interaction in the classroom and during other parts of the school day.
The work is varied and entails significant responsibility and independence.
Examples of tasks:
- Conducting lessons and leading classroom work based on permanent staff planning.
- Acting as an extra resource in the classroom and supporting the teacher in daily work.
- Assisting individual students with tasks and needs that arise.
- Being present during breaks to contribute to safety and good relationships.
- Working in after-school activities.
Requirements and Qualifications
Who are you?
We are looking for someone who finds it easy to make contact in social situations and can quickly build trust with students. You take responsibility, show initiative, and are confident working independently. You have a good ability to structure your work and drive it forward, while being receptive, attentive, and enjoying teamwork.
You are a person who can quickly adapt to new student groups, routines, and plans, as well as handle situations that arise during the school day independently.
Education and Experience
A high school diploma is required for the position. Experience from working in primary schools, service industries, or roles where you support or help other people is advantageous. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
To work within primary schools, a certificate of good conduct (extract from the criminal record) is required. When you submit your application, you will receive an automatic response with instructions on how to order the extract.
We look forward to receiving your application!
