The Workplace

This position involves a collaboration between the Child and Student Health Service and the Individual and Family Care (IFO) department. The responsibilities are distributed across each unit based on the right to perform tasks according to respective laws and regulations. This position is anchored in the IFO department with the mandate this entails.

The social services are currently undergoing an exciting transition based on the new Social Services Act. In our small municipality, we all help each other find new ways to meet our residents in accordance with the new law; being easily accessible and working preventively. Job Description

School social teams are a way for schools and social services to work together to strengthen the conditions for students to achieve educational goals, create a calm and secure school environment, increase student attendance, and provide support to break negative trends.

A functioning school attendance, where students learn, develop, and feel well, is a crucial protective factor. This means that completing a full primary education increases the chances of further studies, participation in working and civic life, good health, and well-being throughout life. Extensive absenteeism can have severe consequences for children and young people, both in the short and long term. The school must counteract this by systematically promoting attendance through, among other things, a good learning environment, early interventions, collaboration, and individual adaptation.

We are now looking for a social worker for the school social team. The team works in a cross-professional manner where social services can assist with preventive and trust-building work in the school environment. School social teams can, for example, offer support measures to guardians and facilitate communication and collaboration between guardians and other actors surrounding the individual student, such as healthcare and the leisure sector.

The position is a one-year project appointment with the possibility of extension or permanent employment, provided that state grants are approved or other decisions are made.

Qualifications

You must have a university degree in social work or another relevant degree at least at the bachelor's level (180 ECTS credits). It is important that you understand the mandate, work, and legislation of the Individual and Family Care department. Experience from working in social services, particularly with children and young people, is meritorious. You are expected to be able to write reports and other documentation required for the execution of the assignment.

We are looking for you who take initiative and have the ability to drive the work forward towards set goals, while valuing collaboration with students, parents, and colleagues and building trusting relationships. You have pedagogical and psychological tools that allow you to meet students in various situations and needs, and you are solution-focused with the ability to think creatively and find individual solutions.
