About the role
In the role of HR Specialist Occupational Health and Safety, you will be part of a group-wide HR team within Axfood and work closely with the HR Specialist Occupational Health and Safety. Together, you will contribute to a coordinated, uniform, and professional occupational health and safety effort across the entire group.

You will work closely with the HR organizations of the retail chains, but also to some extent directly with the operations. The role is about supporting, guiding, and driving occupational health and safety forward by making it work in practice.

The focus is on developing and driving systematic occupational health and safety work (SAM), strengthening the reporting culture regarding incidents and accidents, and working with concrete risk areas in stores.

As part of the assignment, you will contribute to creating a more uniform and functional systematic occupational health and safety work within stores in collaboration with HR, operations, and safety within the stores. This is a role for you who wants to be close to the operations, build trust, and drive change through knowledge, clarity, and collaboration. The role reports to the Head of Negotiations and Compensation.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Guide the retail chains on how to comply with legal requirements as well as Axfood's internal guidelines, routines, and processes within occupational health and safety.
  • Drive and develop systematic occupational health and safety work (SAM) in stores.
  • Support and guide managers in occupational health and safety issues related to physical work environment.
  • Contribute to risk assessments, safety rounds, and investigations of accidents and near-misses.
  • Increase the reporting rate and improve work regarding incident management.
  • Collaborate with HR, operations, safety, and other functions in occupational health and safety issues.
  • Support and/or participate in inspections from the Swedish Work Environment Authority and follow-up on these.
  • Contribute to educational initiatives and workshops within the occupational health and safety area.

About you
To succeed in the role, you have extensive experience working with physical work environment in operationally close environments, such as in retail, logistics, production, or similar. You are accustomed to supporting managers and translating regulations into concrete working methods that work in everyday life.

You thrive in an operational role where you get to be close to the operations and where you make a difference by creating structure, clarity, and momentum. You have a good understanding of the business's conditions and know how to build trust with managers and other internal stakeholders.

As a person, you are confident in your specialist role, unpretentious in your approach, and have a natural ability to collaborate with different types of functions. You are clear in your communication and have the ability to both support and demand when necessary.

Important for the role:

  • Several years of experience in similar roles with a focus on physical work environment.
  • Experience from operationally close environments such as retail, logistics, production, or similar.
  • Good knowledge of systematic occupational health and safety work.
  • Strong execution ability in driving initiatives and projects from start to goal and implementation.
  • Experience with incident reporting – preferably in the IA system.
  • Good communication skills in Swedish and English.
  • Class B driver's license and possibility to travel to some extent in the role.

Meritorious:

  • Experience with union collaboration.
  • Experience in conducting training or workshops.
