EKEN is looking for an analytical Business Controller who wants to contribute to our work with follow-up, business models, and projects in a business where much is still flexible and open to shaping.

About EKEN

EKEN operates at the intersection of forestry, climate, tech, and finance. We are developing a business model where forests are converted into new, long-term revenue streams through certified carbon credits in a growing European market.

By measuring, certifying, and selling the forest's carbon sequestration, we create new revenue streams for forest owners, while simultaneously providing companies with access to high-quality carbon credits to meet their climate goals. Using data, analysis, and proprietary technical solutions, we are building a scalable business model for recurring revenue over time.

About the Role

You will work closely with the CEO and play an active role in building and further developing EKEN’s financial structure and control. The role serves as a bridge between finance, business, and projects, ensuring that operations are sustainable, scalable, correctly monitored, and understood. For the right person, there are significant development opportunities and the potential to take on broader responsibilities as the company grows.

The work involves structuring, improving, and developing methods and models to manage a project-based business with multiple parties, long time horizons, and new types of revenue streams linked to carbon credits.

The role spans everything from ongoing monitoring and cash flow to business-oriented analysis. This is an opportunity to help shape the finance function at an early stage and contribute to how the company and its governance develop forward.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for an economist or civil engineer who is analytical, self-driven, and has a strong interest in working close to the business. You should be confident in your skills and have the ability to create structure in an environment where not everything is fully defined. You thrive in a role where you take responsibility, build processes, and contribute to the company's development.

We believe you have:

• Experience from a similar role
• Strong modeling and analytical skills in Excel
• Experience in financial management
• Ability to handle uncertainty and build structure where it is lacking
• Good communication skills
