Do you want to work for a company that combines social benefit, sustainability, and business complexity? Gasum is now looking for a Senior Accountant to join the team in Linköping.
At Gasum, you will have a central role in a business where finance, tax, and operations are closely intertwined. Here, you are offered a daily routine that is both stimulating and educational, within a company right in the midst of the green transition.
About Gasum
Gasum is a Nordic energy company with deep expertise in the gas market and the energy system in the Nordics. Together with customers and partners, Gasum drives the transition towards a more sustainable and carbon-neutral society. The company is state-owned by the Finnish government and combines long-term stability with a business-driven and entrepreneurial approach.
Gasum invests heavily in biogas, LNG, and infrastructure for heavy transport and shipping. For the finance function, this means working in a capital-intensive and international environment where business often leads the way in regulations and practices. This creates a daily routine with high complexity – but also great opportunities to develop and build deep expertise over time.
About the role and the team
As a Senior Accountant at Gasum, you will have a central and developmental role in the Swedish finance organization. You will work operationally with closing, accounting, and tax for the Swedish companies, ensuring high quality, regulatory compliance, and timely delivery.
Gasum operates in a complex industry where not all questions always have ready-made answers. Instead, you will work in a structured and step-by-step manner, analyze new issues, and help shape how accounting and tax matters are handled over time. For the right person, this means an educational daily routine with opportunities to grow in both competence and responsibility.
The role is 100% operational but with a clear senior responsibility. You are expected to take an active place, drive issues forward, and serve as a reliable sounding board for complex accounting and tax matters. The role has no personnel responsibility.
You will become part of Finance Sweden, a small and cohesive team of four people consisting of two Senior Accountants (of which you are one), an Accountant, and an Accountant Assistant. The team is based in Linköping and is characterized by a flat hierarchy, high competence, and clear accountability. The role reports to the Head of Finance & Accounting Sweden. The culture in the team is built on trust, humility, and collaboration, where even senior roles are expected to be operational and contribute where needed.
Examples of tasks:
- Responsibility for monthly, quarterly, and annual closing according to K3, ÅRL, and BFN.
- Ensure quality through controls and reconciliations.
- Independently work with tax calculations for the Swedish companies, focusing on: income tax, VAT, and excise duties (business-critical).
- Be a discussion partner in advanced accounting and tax matters, internally and together with external advisors.
- Participate in and lead finance meetings.
- Work on improving and developing processes and ways of working.
- Support the team in daily operational tasks.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for you who have several years of experience in qualified accounting in complex environments and very good knowledge of Swedish tax legislation. You are confident in your competence and used to working independently with closing, tax calculations, and advanced accounting matters.
As a person, you are humble in your seniority, structured, and responsible. You take ownership of your issues and ensure they are driven to completion, while also enjoying reasoning together with others when issues are complex. You are analytical, solution-oriented, and comfortable working in a daily routine where not all answers are immediately available.
We believe you thrive in an environment where you need to work both high and low, where collaboration and flat hierarchy are important, and where development happens step by step. You are curious, want to continue developing in your professional role, and see complexity as something stimulating rather than hindering. Experience from energy companies, industry, trading, or other regulation-intensive operations is desirable, as is experience with Microsoft D365. Fluent Swedish and English are required.
Practicalities
The role is primarily located in Linköping where the team sits. For the right person, there is a possibility to base yourself in Stockholm with regular presence in Linköping. Gasum offers hybrid work (approx. 3 days in the office). Travel occurs to a limited extent, primarily within the Nordics.
