Do you want a meaningful job where you can make a difference in every call? As an SOS operator at SOS Alarm, you become a vital link in helping people in emergency situations. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, can handle stress, and have a strong sense of structure and responsibility, you might be the one we are looking for!

At SOS Alarm, we work for a safer Sweden for everyone. We do this by helping people in emergencies, handling alarms, coordinating work during accidents and crises, and actively monitoring events and trends at both national and global levels. We do all this in collaboration with our customers and partners – 24/7, 365 days a year. Many are primarily familiar with our provision of the national emergency number 112, but we also offer a growing number of innovative services for both the private and public markets. Here, you have the opportunity to grow, both professionally and personally, while contributing to something big and important together with fantastic colleagues.

Your daily life as an SOS Operator

"One of the most enjoyable things about this job is that no two days are alike." You will meet all sorts of people, questions, and problems. Your main task is to answer incoming calls from people in need. As an SOS operator, your primary duty is to answer the emergency number 112, and you are the first point of contact for those seeking help before other resources arrive. If you are a nurse assistant, your skills may also be utilized in other functions at the SOS center combined with the primary duty at the emergency number 112.

112 calls cover everything from acute illnesses, traffic accidents, and fires to calls where someone needs a reassuring voice. With interview support and adapted technology, you ensure that the right resources are sent to the right place at the right time. During ongoing calls, you collaborate with colleagues and external resources such as the police, rescue services, and ambulances. The work is often fast-paced, and the person seeking help is always the focus. The work takes place at the SOS center where you sit in an open environment together with your colleagues.

Training
To ensure you have the right prerequisites for success as an SOS operator 112, employment begins with comprehensive training at our training unit in Kista, interspersed with practical training at the center where you have a supervisor.

We offer you

  • Invaluable learning in communicating with different types of people
  • Engaged and supportive leaders and colleagues
  • The chance to work in a socially important company where the human aspect is always central
  • Great development opportunities within the company
  • You will collaborate with, among others, the Police, Rescue Services, Ambulances, and other actors vital to society

We are looking for you
We assume that you always want to help the caller and handle the call from start to finish. You appreciate clear guidelines, are confident in yourself, and decisive – regardless of the call you handle. The role involves collaboration with colleagues and external actors, which requires good teamwork skills. You are a friendly and attentive person who finds it easy to talk to people. Furthermore, you are empathetic and professional, meaning you collaborate and take responsibility in your professional role.

Since SOS Alarm's operations are conducted 24/7, you as an SOS operator will have a round-the-clock position, meaning you will work days/evenings/nights and weekends. Therefore, you cannot choose to work only days, evenings, or nights.
