Do you want to drive projects that make a real difference – from planning to fully operational business? Verdis is now looking for a Project Manager. In this role with us, you will be responsible for ensuring that our assignments are started and concluded in a structured, quality-assured, and professional manner. We hope you are the one we are looking for!
About the Company
Verdis is a leading player in the waste industry, responsible for delivering high-quality services to our clients. We are proud of our commitment to maintaining environmentally friendly solutions and contributing to a sustainable future through responsible waste management.
About the Position
As a Project Manager, you will primarily be responsible for leading and coordinating the start-up and closure of contracts – from planning to execution and handover. You will ensure that every project is carried out according to schedule, budget, and quality requirements, and that operations function from the first day of the contract. In addition, the role serves as an important resource in the organization's ongoing development. You will contribute to various types of projects arising within the business – for example, acting as a unifying link in initiatives related to operational improvements, new ways of working, or implementation of changes. It may also involve supporting projects where there is a need for structure and coordination.
You will work closely with several parts of the organization and play a central role in getting people, resources, and processes to work together. The role involves frequent travel and, periodically and as needed, work at other locations.
You will report to the Regional Manager for Region Nord and be based at our headquarters in Älvsjö, Stockholm.
In your role, you will among other things:
- Lead and coordinate the start-up and closure of contract agreements
- Coordinate and assist in various business-related projects
- Create, drive, and follow up on project plans from start to goal
- Ensure delivery according to schedule, budget, and quality requirements
- Coordinate internal functions and serve as a contact point for external parties
- Identify and manage risks, deviations, and changes during the course of projects
- Ensure that contractual requirements are implemented and complied with
- Ensure access to the right resources in collaboration with responsible managers in the business
Initially, you will be responsible for the start-up of a specific contract in the Stockholm area. We therefore hope you can start as early as June 8th, but since the role is linked to this upcoming start-up, you must be able to join no later than July 1st, 2026, to be considered for the position.
Who are we looking for? We are looking for someone with experience in driving projects from start to finish who thrives in an operational and changing environment. You have a very good ability to plan, structure, and follow up on work, even in complex situations. At the same time, you are flexible and can adapt working methods and priorities when conditions change.
You are a reliable and clear communicator accustomed to collaborating with various stakeholders, both internally and externally. Through your relationship-building and trust-inspiring approach, combined with an unpretentious and collaborative attitude, you create good collaborations and drive work forward. With your understanding of economics and contracts, you also ensure that projects are carried out within established frameworks.
To succeed and thrive in the role, you are action-oriented, solution-focused, and comfortable making decisions even when all answers are not available from the start.
Since travel is part of the job, a requirement is that you hold a B-class driver's license. In addition, we prefer that you have some form of education in project management (or equivalent). Experience from the transport, logistics, or waste industry, as well as work in procured operations, is also an asset.
What do we offer? With us, you will have an important role in an organization where collaboration, quality, and development are the focus. You will have the opportunity to influence how we carry out our start-ups and closures, and contribute to developing working methods in a business that makes a difference every day.
We offer a dynamic work environment with great personal responsibility, short decision-making paths, and good opportunities to develop in your role.
At Verdis, all employees are covered by collective agreements and offered a wellness allowance. Since this position involves travel, you will also be offered a company car.
We value the social aspect, which is why those working at the headquarters gather for a communal breakfast every Friday – a much-appreciated moment of the week. At the headquarters, we are a tight-knit group that works closely together and have fun, with high engagement and tempo in daily life. We place great importance on well-being and collaboration, and therefore seek a person who not only has the right competence but also contributes to the group's dynamics.
Does this sound like something for you? Apply today! Selection and interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis, and the position may be filled before the final application deadline. Applications are made via our website https://www.verdis.se/sv/arbeta-hos-oss/ (https://www.verdis.se/sv/arbeta-hos-oss/) or by clicking on "Apply now". We do not accept applications via email.
