About the Education Department
The Education Department is responsible for preschool, pedagogical care, after-school centers, preschool class, primary school, adapted primary school, upper secondary school, adapted upper secondary school, municipal adult education, adult education as special education for adults, Swedish for immigrants (SFI), youth centers, open preschool, and music school.
Preschool and after-school center activities are located at all seven F-6 schools, with geographical spread throughout the municipality.
Altorpskolan, the municipality's only 7-9 school, accepts students from all our F-6 schools and is strategically located in central Herrljunga. Kunskapskällan, the municipality's upper secondary school, is also located in the Herrljunga urban area.
Horsbyskolan is divided into two school units: Horsbyskolan F-3 and Horsbyskolan 4-6. Horsbyskolan F-3 is a school with 2-3 parallel classes and four after-school center departments, approximately 170 students, and 35 employees. The school is characterized by a welcoming and open climate, a modern learning environment, and close cooperation between school and home. A positive and safe learning environment is important to us, and we work together to create a school where we meet every student based on their prerequisites and needs. The staff's competence and engagement are clearly visible in our daily work. We place great importance on collaboration, pedagogical dialogue, and collegial learning.
Job Responsibilities
We are looking for an engaged teacher for our preschool class. You will become part of a team consisting of four teachers who jointly manage two preschool classes. Together, you will create a safe, learning-oriented, and developmental environment for the students in their first encounter with the world of school.
As a teacher in the preschool class, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching based on Lgr 22 chapters 1-3. You work to stimulate students' curiosity, linguistic skills, mathematical thinking, social skills, and their desire to explore and learn. The assignment involves creating structure, safety, and clear frameworks that give students the best possible conditions to develop as far as possible.
We work from a cooperative approach in large parts of our teaching. This means that you are a clear and safe leader who engages the students, supports their interaction, and gives them opportunities to participate and grow together.
We are looking for someone who meets the students with a warm, professional, and individualized approach. You build positive relationships, show care, and see each student's needs and strengths. Good cooperation with colleagues and parents is an important part of the assignment, and we value that you contribute to an open, collegial, and development-oriented work climate.
Part of the position, corresponding to 25%, consists of teaching in the after-school center, mostly during the morning hours. In this assignment, you work to create a calm and safe start to the day.
You are flexible, curious about different working methods, and see the value in developing together with others. We place great importance on personal suitability.
Qualifications
We are looking for a licensed teacher with the qualification to teach in preschool class to grade 3. You put the student in focus and feel a strong commitment to the student group. To succeed, you are a responsible person and have a good ability to analyze and evaluate our work. You are well familiar with the school's governing documents.
