About the Department of Education
The Department of Education is responsible for preschools, pedagogical care, after-school centers, preschool classes, primary schools, adapted primary schools, high schools, adapted high schools, municipal adult education, Komvux as special education for adults, Swedish for immigrants (SFI), youth centers, open preschools, and music schools.
Preschool and after-school activities are available at all seven F-6 schools, spread geographically across the entire municipality.
Altorpskolan, the municipality's only 7-9 school, accepts students from all our F-6 schools and is strategically located in central Herrljunga. Kunskapskällan, the municipality's high school, is also located in the Herrljunga urban area.
Horsbyskolan is divided into two school units: Horsbyskolan F-3 and Horsbyskolan 4-6. Horsbyskolan F-3 is a school with 2-3 parallel classes and four after-school center departments, with approximately 170 students and 35 employees. The school is characterized by a welcoming and open climate, a modern learning environment, and close cooperation between school and home. A positive and safe learning environment is important to us, and we work together to create a school where we meet every student based on their prerequisites and needs. The staff's competence and engagement are clearly visible in our daily work. We place great importance on collaboration, pedagogical dialogue, and collegial learning.
We are looking for Student Assistants (3 positions)
We are now looking for you who want to be part of us at Horsbyskolan F-3 and who want to work in the important role of a student assistant!
As a student assistant with us, you will play a central role in creating a safe, supportive, and stimulating school environment for our youngest students. You will work closely with both teachers and the student health team to ensure that every student gets the best possible conditions to develop both socially and academically.
The assignment includes providing individual support to students who need extra help in teaching, in the social environment, and for students with various care needs. This may involve adapting tasks, explaining instructions, providing structural support, and being a calming and supportive presence in the classroom. You help students find strategies to succeed and are present as a safe adult throughout the school day.
The work also involves supporting students during transitions, breaks, in the cafeteria, and other contexts where extra support is needed. For some students, this may also involve care-oriented measures, such as helping to create security in routines, regulating emotions, or handling daily tasks that are challenging. Together with the teacher, you contribute to creating a calm work atmosphere and a positive climate in the group. You are attentive, relationship-building, and have the ability to treat students with different needs in a professional and empathetic manner.
We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in children and learning, good collaboration skills, and a desire to make a real difference in students' school days. Experience working with students in need of special support or with care needs is an asset.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in a school environment or other pedagogical activities.
- Good ability to build safe, positive relationships with children.
- Ability to provide structure, create calm, and work solution-focused in daily life.
- Attentiveness and security in the treatment of students with different needs, both pedagogical and care-related.
- Ability to collaborate closely with teachers, student health services, and other staff.
- Good communication skills in speech and writing in Swedish.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and be flexible in a changing school day.
Employment Terms
Employment Type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer.
There is a possibility that the position may eventually transition to a permanent employment contract.
In Herrljunga Municipality, full-time is the norm with the possibility of part-time. If full-time assignments are lacking, it may mean that positions can be combined with other tasks or at another workplace.
