Description

Sommarhemsskolan is a newly built, centrally located school for grades 1–6 with bright and spacious premises and a schoolyard that invites various activities. The central location means we are close to various indoor and outdoor activities in sports, culture, and nature. Approximately 330 students attend Sommarhemsskolan, the after-school care center has about 190 children, and there are approximately 45 staff members.

We work in two parallel groups, and teachers collaborate closely with each other and in work teams. The organization has work teams where everyone shares joint responsibility for the students. We are committed to meeting every student with engagement, considering their needs and conditions. We aim to provide every student with good opportunities for development.

Tasks

You will work as a craft teacher specializing in hard materials (wood and metal) or soft materials (sewing and textiles) in grades 3–6. You will collaborate closely with the craft teacher specializing in the opposite material, as craft is a unified subject. You are also expected to collaborate with teachers in grades 3–6 to join thematic projects and other school areas. Facility maintenance, documentation, and contact with parents when needed are also part of the assignment.

Qualifications

The position requires a teaching license with qualification in the subject of craft.

You must be well-versed in the compulsory school's governing documents and work with formative assessment as a natural part of your teaching. You should also have good computer skills and view ICT as a natural way of working. You are interested in developing the school into a positive place for everyone.

We attach great importance to personal qualities and skills. You should be service-oriented with a focus on collaboration with students, guardians, and colleagues. You are a good leader in the classroom with clarity in communication, goals, and results. You possess qualities that include both structure and creativity. A positive attitude and a sense of humor are considered assets.

Terms

The position is a permanent employment of 60% at Sommarhemsskolan (Grades 1–6). There may be an opportunity to expand the position through work in after-school care and as a resource in the school.

Employment is subject to the necessary decisions being made. For positions involving direct and regular contact with children and young people, as well as activities within LSS, care and support, health and medical care, psychiatric care, and addiction care, a valid extract from the police criminal register must be shown or submitted prior to employment. Please note that obtaining the extract can take time, so order it well in advance to avoid delaying the recruitment process.
