Do you want to help create the school of the future – where students can grow, succeed, and feel hope?

About Us

We offer a unique combination of school and treatment, where education is integrated with skills training and therapeutic support. Our operations are characterized by a humble collaboration between various professions. In addition to educators, we employ behavioral scientists, social workers, and family therapists who, together with school staff, support students in their development. The school targets adolescents in grades 7–9 with extensive needs for special support. The students we meet often face social, psychosocial, or neurodevelopmental challenges and frequently have a history of prolonged school absence. To help these young people achieve a functional school experience, we work with small-scale operations, high staff density, enhanced student social support, and individually tailored arrangements based on each student's prerequisites and needs. We have a systemic and salutogenic perspective, focusing on working with the whole and building on what works. Our goal is to provide an environment where every student has a chance to succeed based on their own conditions.

About the Position

As a teacher at Magelungen, you will become a key figure in a holistic effort that combines teaching, relationships, and change work. You will teach in a smaller group where students' strengths are the starting point for planning and learning. You have overall responsibility for the teaching, planning, implementing, and following up on both an individual and group level. This includes mentoring, contact with guardians, and collaboration with entities such as social services and healthcare as part of your assignment.

The assignment is challenging and involves a changing student environment with many simultaneous demands and close relational work, which places high demands on structure, flexibility, and endurance. At the same time, it offers great opportunities to make a real difference.

In your daily work, you focus on students' resources and competencies, working together with them towards their own goals. You collaborate closely with school management, colleagues, student health services, and treatment coordinators in an interdisciplinary team, contribute to development work, and create teaching that combines knowledge, structure, and relationships in a context characterized by trust, warmth, and endurance.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed teacher with eligibility for grades 6–9 who has experience of, or a strong interest in, students with extensive support needs. You see the relationship as your primary pedagogical tool, combine structure with creativity, and maintain calm even when daily life tests you. You are motivated to work in a non-profit, employee-owned organization where research and reflection are a natural part of the work. Experience in special education is an asset.

We attach great importance to personal suitability. You are a secure and stable teacher who actively uses relationships in your work, combining trust, structure, and clear leadership with flexibility and creativity. The work demands collaboration skills, endurance, and a solution-focused approach. You will become an important part of an engaged team where we together create structure, security, and development for students in need of special support. The school is exclusively for students with extensive needs for special support; therefore, we prefer candidates with experience working with this specific student category.

Our Offer

Our organization is non-profit and employee-owned, a conscious choice that reflects our commitment and long-term vision. We offer a meaningful workplace where every day feels important, close leadership, and a warm collegium that believes in collaboration and development. We provide continuous supervision and professional development within Magelungen's professional program, as well as the opportunity to influence how we build the school of the future.

Employment Type

The position is a permanent role, full-time or part-time depending on your subject eligibility. We apply a 6-month probationary period.
