Gårdstensskolan is currently seeking a teacher to teach handicrafts (slöjd) for grades 4–5.

Gårdstensskolan moved into new premises in the autumn term of 2019. Special efforts have been made to digitalize the school. Classrooms, offices, and other common areas are characterized by new technology and new furniture. The school's focus area is language- and knowledge-developing working methods in all subjects. There is a lead teacher in each grade who leads the work to ensure this approach permeates the operations. The school's student health team is part of the school's work groups to support work on student health-oriented issues such as attendance and students' need for support. At Gårdstensskolan, we strive to build an organization where all functions in the operations work together to increase our students' goal achievement.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities include planning, conducting, and following up on your teaching. You will also be part of a work group with teachers who have other subject competencies. Together with your subject and work group, you will work jointly to strengthen students' learning processes and create a good learning environment. You are also expected to work with the school's development work together with colleagues and be receptive to ideas and suggestions.

Qualifications

To apply for the position, you must be a licensed teacher with the qualification to teach handicrafts for grades 4 and 5, including textiles as well as wood and metal handicrafts. You are well familiar with the school's governing documents and work clearly with knowledge goals. Since communication and documentation are part of the daily work, you must have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

As a person, you have the ability to create good relationships and serve as a role model for the students. You are engaged with good collaborative skills and a positive attitude. Furthermore, you are flexible and see opportunities in changes.

Your teaching is characterized by a desire for learning where students are given room for participation and engagement. The diversity that permeates the school is enriching and enables creative learning environments.
