The Faculty of Fine, Applied and Performing Arts consists of the Academy of Music and Theatre (HSM) and the Academy of Art and Design (HDK-Valand).
The Academy of Music and Theatre (HSM) is currently seeking guest lecturers for intermittent employment to teach at the bachelor's and/or master's level at the Unit for Classical and Church Music.
Subject
Artistic Design with a focus on Interpretation – Double Bass
Subject Description
The recruitment is within the subject of Artistic Design with a focus on Interpretation. Teaching will primarily take place within the bachelor's and master's programmes at the Unit for Classical and Church Music. Artistic Design within classical and church music currently encompasses both bachelor's and master's programmes, as well as interpretation courses for orchestral instruments and organ. Within Artistic Design, and as an integrated part of the shared environment of HSM and the Faculty of Fine, Applied and Performing Arts, artistic research is also conducted.
Job Responsibilities
The Academy of Music and Theatre (HSM) is currently seeking guest lecturers for intermittent employment to teach at the bachelor's and/or master's level in the following subject:
- Double Bass
We are looking for individuals with documented experience in the main subject who can contribute to the artistic and pedagogical development of the education. The assignment primarily involves individual instruction in the main subject, as well as group/ensemble teaching. The scope of the assignment varies and may consist of short-term engagements or longer teaching blocks over one or several weeks. The language of instruction is Swedish or English.
Qualifications
Employment requires documented education or qualified professional experience within the relevant subject area. Experience of teaching at the university level is an asset. Great importance is attached to pedagogical skill, communicative ability, and personal suitability.
We will primarily consider those applicants who, after a holistic assessment, are deemed to have the best prerequisites for carrying out the described job responsibilities.
Employment
The employment is an intermittent position according to agreement for the period 15 August 2026 – 30 June 2027.
Teaching takes place on-site at the Academy of Music and Theatre in Gothenburg. The work involves approximately 50-180 hours per term, which can be scheduled within the contract period.
You will have an intermittent employment for the work occasions that occur during this period. With intermittent employment, you are called in and choose to accept offered work, which then constitutes a new employment relationship at each individual occasion. You also have the right to decline such an offer. Worked hours should be reported to the employer, preferably per calendar month, via the GU/Hourly Wage form.
