About Us
The Department of Education is responsible for preschools, pedagogical care, after-school centers, preschool classes, primary schools, adapted primary schools, upper secondary schools, adapted upper secondary schools, municipal adult education, special adult education (Komvux), Swedish for immigrants (SFI), youth centers, open preschools, and music schools.
Preschool and after-school activities are available at all seven F-6 schools, geographically spread throughout the municipality. Altorpskolan, the municipality's only 7-9 school, accepts students from all our F-6 schools and is strategically located in central Herrljunga. Kunskapskällan, the municipality's upper secondary school, is also located in the Herrljunga urban area.
Horsbyskolan is divided into two school units: Horsbyskolan F-3 and Horsbyskolan 4-6. Horsbyskolan F-3 is a school with 2-3 parallel classes and four after-school center departments, with approximately 170 students and 35 employees. The school is characterized by a welcoming and open climate, a modern learning environment, and close cooperation between school and home. A positive and safe learning environment is important to us, and we work together to create a school where we meet every student based on their prerequisites and needs. The staff's competence and engagement are clearly visible in our daily work. We place great importance on collaboration, pedagogical dialogue, and collegial learning.

Job Responsibilities
We are looking for an engaged and secure primary school teacher for the lower grades. With us, you will become part of a work team that together creates the best conditions for students' learning and development.
In this role, you will also have tasks related to special support, including in mathematics and Swedish, where you work closely with students who need adaptations, guidance, and extra instruction. The position includes some classroom teaching as well as mentoring for a number of students.
We view collegial learning and effective teams as central parts of our work. The work team collaborates closely around the students, shares planning, analyzes teaching, and drives joint development. You will meet regularly to co-plan and hold pedagogical discussions.
We work largely from a cooperative approach, which means that you are a clear, secure, and present leader who actively creates participation, interaction, and collaboration in the classroom. You strive to give all students good opportunities to develop as far as possible based on their prerequisites.
As a teacher, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching in accordance with current governing documents. You use both pedagogical skill and conscious leadership to create security, structure, and a study atmosphere. You meet students individually with a positive, relationship-building approach.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a licensed teacher with authorization for grades 1-3. It is an asset if you also have experience or authorization in Swedish as a second language, as many of our students are multilingual.
We place great importance on personal suitability.
Employment Terms
- Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
- Duration: 6 months or longer.
- The position is a parental leave substitute and is vacant until: 2027-06-17.
- There is a possibility that the position may eventually transition to a permanent employment.
- In Herrljunga Municipality, full-time is the norm with the possibility of part-time. If full-time assignments are lacking, it may mean that positions can be combined with other tasks or at another workplace.
