The Position and Responsibilities
We are currently seeking a Social Secretary for the reception unit dealing with domestic violence, with a focus on the Family Peace (Familjefrid) work.
Here, you work close to people's reality in both acute situations and long-term change work.
This is a role for you who want to take the next step in your development as a Social Secretary. You work close to the incident, make early assessments, and collaborate with colleagues and the police to provide support when it is needed most.
Your main responsibilities include:
- receiving and handling incoming cases
- investigating and assessing the need for protection and support according to the Social Services Act
- making decisions and following up on measures
- documenting according to current legislation
- collaborating with the police, healthcare, and other actors
- contributing to the development of work within the field of domestic violence.
As part of the assignment, you work within Family Peace, a method where social services and the police collaborate in acute situations. Together with colleagues from the reception unit for children and young people, you meet families directly after an incident.
Social services are on site within 30 minutes of an alarm, which creates good conditions for reaching out early and motivating change.
The work involves a rotating schedule where five employees take turns working weekday evenings. Work shifts are scheduled to start at 23:00 but may continue longer if ongoing measures are in progress. You work in a team and share joint responsibility in acute situations.
We Offer You
With us, you get the opportunity to take the next step in your development as a Social Secretary. You work close to the incident, in complex cases, and together with colleagues who support each other in assessments and develop working methods in an area of great importance. You have close support from the Head Social Secretary in your daily work, which creates security in a role that demands both independence and collaboration.
You will become part of the Social Administration in Botkyrka Municipality, where we work with support for children, young people, and adults.
Within the reception unit for domestic violence, you work together with experienced social secretaries in close collaboration with other parts of the operation and external actors such as the police and healthcare. The unit is in a development phase where the work with Family Peace continues to take shape, meaning you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of working methods and collaboration.
You Who Apply
You have a degree in Social Work or another academic degree in behavioral science, social work, or sociology. You have previous experience of exercising authority and have conducted investigative work within social services.
Other requirements for the position:
- Previous experience of working with the Signs of Safety method.
- Experience working with the Motivational Interviewing method.
We consider it an asset if you have:
- Previous work experience with the Island Model.
- Experience working in the field of domestic violence.
In this role, your ability to collaborate and build relationships is crucial. You work closely with colleagues from different parts of the operation and together with the police in acute situations, where you need to quickly create a common situational picture and make decisions. You need to be able to build trust when meeting people in vulnerable situations, often directly after an incident, while simultaneously collaborating with other professions to ensure the right measures are taken.
The work also requires that you are structured and stable. You need to be able to prioritize and make well-founded decisions in situations that can change rapidly, while ensuring that documentation and case handling maintain a high quality. You maintain your composure in stressful situations and can switch between acute measures and more long-term work without losing direction or quality.
For positions at the Social Administration in Botkyrka Municipality, you as a future employee will undergo a background check.
