The Social Administration provides support to the residents of Botkyrka and is responsible for exercising authority, primarily according to the Social Services Act. The support is for both individuals and their relatives. The Social Administration has a special responsibility for children, young people, and adults in need of support according to social legislation. We are approximately 500 employees who, with strength-based working methods, provide support to the residents of Botkyrka in an equitable, fair, and secure manner.

The Position and Tasks

Within the Health Group, three social workers work within the Economic Assistance 3 unit to investigate and determine the level of activity capacity for individuals who, for various reasons, have not been able to establish themselves in the labor market for a long time. In July, the activity requirement comes into force, which implies closer and more extensive cooperation between the Economic Assistance unit and the Work and Employment unit. Therefore, we need an additional person to work cross-unit with clients who are furthest from the labor market.

The work involves compiling investigations that clarify the individual's activity capacity. These investigations then form the basis for finding ways into the labor market or applying for compensation and/or support via another authority. The work to clarify activity capacity is long-term and requires close cooperation with clients, labor market measures, the region, and other authorities. It is you who collects documentation, initiates cooperation, and drives the process forward. The clients we meet often have complex ill health and social problems, therefore a flexible working method adapted to the individual's conditions is needed.

We have regular cooperation with trusted physicians who provide consultation and, if necessary, meet with users. Cooperation also exists with health centers in the municipality.

Main tasks:

• Work with clients who are far from the labor market and receive economic assistance
• Gather documentation both internally and from other actors to clarify activity capacity
• Motivational work focusing on the client receiving care, investigative, or labor market measures
• Guide towards other compensations or further rehabilitation or labor market measures
• Act as a link between the Economic Assistance and Work and Employment units
• Help shape the position based on changing needs that come with new working methods to meet the activity requirement.

Part of your working time will be at the Work and Employment unit to enable close cooperation and ensure coherent assessments and measures.

You who apply to us

You have a degree in social work, another academic education deemed equivalent, or are licensed in health and medical care.

Other requirements:

• Documented work experience of meeting and treating people in vulnerable situations.
• Knowledge of the social insurance system.
• Experience of cooperation with internal and external actors.

We consider the following as merits:

• Experience of investigating activity capacity and/or conducting work capacity assessments.
• Experience of working within an authority.
• Experience of working within health and medical care.
• Knowledge and/or experience of Motivational Interviewing (MI).

In the role within the Health Group, you need to be collaboration-oriented and confident in working closely with both internal and external actors. You cooperate with colleagues in economic assistance, the Work and Employment unit, health and medical care, and other authorities to clarify individuals' activity capacity and possible ways forward. You are relationship-building in meetings with clients with complex ill health and social problems and build trust through a respectful, professional, and motivating approach.

You work independently and structured, driving investigations forward by collecting documentation, initiating collaborations, and keeping processes together over time. The role requires you to be the cohesive force in the work with activity capacity assessments and to adapt your working method to the individual's conditions.
