As a study and career counsellor, you are close to the students in their daily lives, in the conversations, decisions, and choices that shape their future.
SSHL is a boarding school with roots dating back to the 1920s and today has approximately 550 students from over 45 countries. We offer both Swedish and international education programs, including upper secondary school and IB programs. Our ambition is to constantly work for the best interest of the student.

RESPONSIBILITIES
In the role of study and career counsellor, you work closely with students, mentors, teaching staff, boarding house personnel, and school leadership, with a special focus on the students' situation and their future study paths both in Sweden and internationally. You are also part of the school's admissions function.
An important part of the assignment is to plan and carry out activities that strengthen students' future choices, such as mentorship programs and other guiding initiatives. You also participate in school activities, such as open days, trial stays, and Young Professionals, where you meet prospective students and represent the school.
In your daily work, you support students in their decision-making processes through individual conversations and targeted measures. You provide information on educational paths in both Swedish and international systems, including studies abroad, and guide students through application processes. The work takes place in close collaboration with the school's staff, and you are also involved in the student health team, contributing to a holistic approach to students' development and well-being.

QUALIFICATIONS
- degree in study and career guidance
- experience in guidance work with young people
- good knowledge of the Swedish education system and international study paths
- very good communication skills in Swedish and English
- additional language skills are an asset
- experience working in an international environment is an asset
