The Department of Children and Education operates on behalf of the Preschool Board and the Primary School Board. The department is responsible for preschool activities, school-age child care, primary school, and adapted primary school. Our most important mission is to give all children and students in Huddinge the opportunity to develop to their full potential in a safe educational environment. The Vårby Principal Area consists of three schools: Vårbyskolan (grades 4-9), Grindstuskolan (grades F-3), and Vårbackaskolan (grades F-3). The schools have one principal and one deputy principal each. The Vårby schools are located in Vårby Gård, a green and beautiful area along the red metro line. Approximately 460 students attend the Vårby schools.

Description of Duties

The position of Primary School Teacher with a focus on leisure-time center offers an opportunity to help launch a new activity within the adapted primary school in the Vårby Principal Area. We start on a smaller scale with a group of students in grades F-3 and will grow over time in both number and grade levels. Together with special educators and school leadership, you will have the opportunity to help shape the activity from the beginning. As a Primary School Teacher with a focus on leisure-time center within the adapted primary school, you have a central role in creating a safe, stimulating, and developing environment for students with different needs. Your mission spans both teaching and leisure-time activities, where you work to promote students' social, emotional, and academic development.

You plan and carry out pedagogical activities adapted to students' individual conditions and needs. This may include creative activities, movement, play, communication training, and daily living skills. You actively work to strengthen students' self-esteem, ability to cooperate, and independence through structured and enjoyable activities. In collaboration with other educators, you contribute to creating a holistic approach to the student's school day. You participate in the pedagogical work during school hours but have special responsibility for the content and quality of the leisure-time center. You document and follow up on students' development and are involved in the work with individual development plans and action programs.

You have close cooperation with parents, student health services, and other professionals to ensure that every student receives the right support. You work inclusively with a low-affective approach and are responsive to students' needs and ways of expression. Teaching and leisure-time activities are characterized by clear structure, predictability, and accessible learning. You use visual support, communication aids, and other pedagogical tools to create an environment where all students can participate and develop.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Is educated as a Primary School Teacher with a focus on leisure-time center.
• Has experience working with children in need of special support.
• Has experience working in adapted primary schools.
• Has knowledge and experience of working with alternative and augmentative communication (AAC).
• Has very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

As a person, you have a good ability to create structure, security, and involvement. We also see that you are driven, creative, solution-focused, and have a big heart for every student. You also work inclusively with a low-affective approach.
