Join us in launching the middle school at Södertörns Friskola! We are looking for two teachers (grades 4–6)

Are you an engaged teacher who wants to inspire joy in learning and embark on an exciting journey? At Södertörns Friskola, we are expanding our well-established upper secondary operations by launching grades 4 and 5. Therefore, we are now seeking at least two driven teachers who want to help shape our new middle school operations from the ground up!

Your new job

In the role of teacher for our new grades 4 and 5, you will have a unique opportunity to help build a new operation. You will be responsible for the pedagogical content of the teaching, planning, conducting, and following up on work in the classroom. At the school, we also place great emphasis on social work that should take place daily in the classroom and learning situations.

Together with your colleagues, you will share teaching duties and have joint homeroom teacher responsibilities.

We place great importance on you having a formative approach to both your own learning and that of the students. You will build trusting relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to create a positive and safe school environment. At our school, there is always the opportunity for subject-specific joint planning, both within the grade level and in subject teams.

Welcome to Södertörns Friskola

Södertörns Friskola is a workplace beyond the ordinary! We have been around for 25 years and currently have 484 students (grades 6–9) and 54 employees. The school is run as a staff cooperative, which means there is a strong sense of "we" – it is our school together, and everyone is involved in how the operations function, big and small.

In the upper secondary school (grades 6–9), we offer four exciting profile specializations: Global, Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Art and Design, and Music and Drama. However, for our new classes in grades 4 and 5, we will not be working with profile specializations. Instead, our entire focus here is on the school's core mission: to build a strong, broad, and secure knowledge foundation that prepares students in the best possible way for upper secondary school.

The school is located in a beautiful park landscape with several different buildings, giving a cozy feeling of a small school. With Flemingsberg Nature Reserve and the forest right on the doorstep, there are fantastic opportunities to use the outdoor environment as part of teaching through excursions and scientific outings. There are also gardening opportunities on the school grounds.

We also have an animal house at the school with rabbits and guinea pigs, among others. The animal house currently functions as part of the students' break activities but could beneficially be developed to also be included as an integrated part of the teaching.

Your competence

We are looking for you who are a licensed teacher for grades 4–6. Those applying are expected to collectively cover qualifications in Mathematics, Swedish, English, Natural Sciences (NO), and Social Studies (SO). Additional qualifications are highly meritorious.

  • value close collegial cooperation and see joint work as the key to success, both in subject teams and with your homeroom colleague.
  • want to work in a staff cooperative where you have great opportunities to influence the operations, big and small.
  • have good digital competence (even though we offer great opportunities for further training through knowledgeable colleagues) and a genuine interest in school development.

Good to know

Employment type: Permanent employment at 100% (commencing with a 6-month probationary period).

Start date: Before the start of the Autumn term 2026 (or by agreement).
