In August 2023, Vega School opened – a unique project where the education administration's staff collaborates closely with the culture and leisure administration to create opportunities for broader learning. We continue to grow and now need to strengthen our staff with an engaged and driven music teacher.

Vega School is located right in Vega; a newly built area in Haninge Municipality, just south of Stockholm with the commuter train station right next to the school.

The school covers grades F-9 as well as adapted primary school. In addition to teaching facilities, there is a full-sized sports hall, a public library, a leisure center, a cultural school, lecture/theater and orchestra halls, and cafés.

The school's premises are spacious, modernly furnished, and contain everything required for high-quality music education. When fully built out, the school accommodates approx. 780 students. During the day, our premises are used by the school. After school hours, the cultural school, associations, and other actors operate in parts of the building.

What we are looking for in you

We are looking for you, a licensed music teacher, who has a strong commitment to students' learning, safety, and future, and whose music teaching is characterized by high quality and joy. You enjoy, have experience of, and are qualified to teach students in music within the range of grades 1–9 as well as adapted primary school.

You are a clear and structured leader who is secure in your teacher role and understands the importance of good relationships. You are creative, flexible, engaged, and want to develop teaching and work to ensure that every student reaches as far as possible in their knowledge and personal development. You are keen to create a safe learning environment based on mutual respect, and you understand the importance of teaching being creative and stimulating, while also resting on research and proven methods. You are unpretentious and curious and share your knowledge with others.

Collaboration with colleagues is a key factor and a natural part of your work. At Vega School, we value the ability to create good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues.

You are open to development and want to grow in your profession. You stimulate students' curiosity and desire to learn, are attentive to each student's prerequisites and needs, and adapt accordingly.

You have high digital maturity, as our classrooms are equipped with the latest technology. You see Unikum, Teams, and Google Classroom as natural tools in your work and communication.

It is an asset if you have experience of language-developing working methods (SKUA) and various NPF diagnoses or multiple subject qualifications in your license.

Since the culture and leisure administration has parts of its operations in the same building, we consider it self-evident that you have an interest and a willingness to collaborate with other actors.

Your Assignment

You are responsible for music teaching in grades 1-6 as well as in certain classes at upper secondary level. The position is 70 %.

Your assignment includes, among other things, planning, conducting, evaluating, and being responsible for music teaching based on current governing documents and students' needs and prerequisites.

In the recruitment, great importance will be attached to personal suitability and good references.
