About the Job

The French School is a Swedish non-profit independent school with roots dating back to 1862. We follow the Swedish national curriculum, instruction is conducted in Swedish, and students begin learning French from preschool class. Prior knowledge of French is not a requirement, but it offers a fantastic opportunity for those who thrive in an international environment. We are a school for grades F–9 and upper secondary, offering great opportunities in a pleasant international setting. We have approximately 950 students and the school is located in central Stockholm near St. John's Church.

Responsibilities

We are now looking for an engaged and development-oriented colleague to join our team teaching Swedish and Social Studies (SO) to students in grades 4–6. You have a strong ability to create a sense of security and build trusting relationships with students, colleagues, and parents. You believe in every student's ability to learn and use student-active methods that further their development. It is important to you that students are involved and have influence over planning and their own learning. You are structured and communicate clearly with students and parents. Developing your teaching together with your colleagues is a given for you. Through self-reflection and feedback from colleagues, students, and parents, you continuously develop your strong leadership. Mentoring is included. The position is permanent, starting August 10th.

Qualifications

We are looking for a certified teacher in Swedish and Social Studies, preferably in combination with another subject, for the middle school level. You are confident in your role as a teacher and have the ability to create a positive working climate with students and colleagues. You have strong collaborative skills and a positive attitude towards your work, which spreads throughout the organization.
