Responsibilities

As a Researcher at KTH's infrastructure for Advanced Light Microscopy (ALM), part of the national infrastructure SciLifeLab, the incumbent will be responsible for operations and method development within light-sheet microscopy. The role entails a specific focus on expansion microscopy methods and sample preparation based on optical clearing.

Responsibilities include:

• Technical responsibility for the facility's light-sheet systems, including calibration and advanced user support.
• Development and optimization of imaging protocols for transparent samples.
• Execution of 3D image analysis specifically tailored for large datasets from light-sheet microscopy.
• Collaboration with research groups within SciLifeLab and external partners regarding the implementation of techniques in specific research projects.
• Disseminating information about ALM resources through workshops, seminars, and educational initiatives.

The activities are conducted in an interdisciplinary and international environment with a focus on providing state-of-the-art technology and expertise for life science research.

Qualifications

Requirements

• PhD degree or a foreign degree assessed as equivalent to a PhD.
• Documented experience working with light-sheet microscopy.
• Documented competence in 3D image analysis specific to light-sheet microscopy.
• Practical experience in sample preparation via optical clearing or expansion microscopy.
• Ability to communicate professionally in English, as this is required in the international environment at SciLifeLab.

Personal Attributes

The position requires a high degree of independence and a strong internal drive to advance technical projects. The role presupposes good collaboration skills as the work involves daily contact with researchers from various disciplines.
