Job Responsibilities

Life science is undergoing a transformation, shifting from a largely descriptive and data-collection discipline to one driven by quantitative molecular data. This comprehensive and complex data landscape forms the foundation for using artificial intelligence to predict living systems.

SciLifeLab is at the forefront of this data and AI transformation. Through its strategic research program Alpha Cell, SciLifeLab will leverage the convergence of advanced artificial intelligence, large collections of molecular data, and groundbreaking imaging techniques to map cells at a molecular scale and develop predictive AI-based cell models. The program is funded by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation.

The program seeks a Technical Research Specialist to lead a team of research engineers and data scientists in generating and processing high-resolution cell images using advanced imaging methods, including volume electron microscopy and super-resolution microscopy. The position reports to Jan Ellenberg, one of the program's principal investigators.

The role requires the ability to work in a goal- and results-oriented manner within an environment under construction where conditions may change over time.
