Case Officer for Social Services (SoL) Ages 18-64

The Social Administration is seeking a Case Officer.

Permanent employment. Full-time, start date according to agreement.

About the workplace

The Section for Regulatory Authority, Functional Support consists of approximately 35 employees and is organized into three units working with regulatory authority according to LSS and SoL for persons with disabilities. The section is responsible for handling, follow-up, and development of operations within the entire functional support area.

The Unit for Regulatory Authority LSS-Adult/SoL 18–64 years consists of 10 employees and is characterized by a strong will to develop and a genuine community. We value each other's expertise and strive together to meet the future demands on the social service. Here we work purposefully to ensure that every individual receives the right support at the right time, through legally sound handling and a reception characterized by empathy and clarity.

About the assignment

As a Case Officer with us, you have a meaningful and responsible assignment where you investigate, make decisions, and follow up on measures according to the Social Services Act (SoL). You work specifically with persons between 18 and 64 years of age who have physical disabilities. The goal is to create conditions for an independent and secure life through legally sound decisions and close cooperation with the user.

Your main tasks:

  • Handling and investigation: You are responsible for the entire chain from application to decision and follow-up. You write well-founded investigations where the individual's needs are at the center.
  • Fast flows/expedited handling: You handle fast flows, especially regarding discharges from hospitals. Here you are expected to be able to reprioritize and, if necessary, complete an investigation and make a decision on the same day to ensure measures are in place when the user comes home.
  • Independent decision-making: You work with your own delegation on several measures, which requires that you are secure in your professional role and legislation.
  • Collaboration: You have close cooperation with colleagues within the unit, healthcare, and providers.
  • Operational development: You are expected to be involved in our joint work to develop methods and routines.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who is secure in their professional role and who enjoys it when the tempo is periodically high. You have an analytical ability, can see the big picture in a case, and have good knowledge of current legislation. For you, it is a matter of course to write high-quality, legally sound investigations.

In meetings with our users, you are attentive and empathetic, even in difficult conversations. Since the role involves many contact points – both within the municipality and with external parties – your ability to collaborate and your positive contribution to our work climate are decisive for us to succeed together.

Your qualifications:

  • Education: Degree in Social Work or another comparable university education that the employer assesses as equivalent.
  • Analytical ability: You can quickly get up to speed in complex situations and see the individual's needs in a larger context.
  • Communication: You have the ability to express yourself well in speech and writing, with a focus on clarity and legal security.
  • Stability: You are secure in yourself and maintain a professional focus even during "fast balls".

Merits

  • Experience of regulatory authority within the social services (SoL/LSS).
  • Experience of working with persons with physical disabilities.
  • Knowledge of IBIC (Individual's needs in the center).
