The Position and Responsibilities
We are seeking a Family Therapist for Open Care Family with a special focus on counseling support and network work.
In this role, you will meet families both early on and throughout the entire investigation process. The Counseling Reception offers advice and support conversations without aid decisions and also receives assignments from the investigation units. You are responsible for gathering families' private and professional networks and creating safe meeting forums where all parties can contribute to a common understanding of the situation.
The work combines therapeutic conversations with network-based support. You will lead meetings such as family councils and network meetings and support the dialogue between the family, colleagues, and other important actors. In parallel, you will work with individual conversations and family conversations based on a systemic foundation as part of the Counseling Reception's work. By keeping the processes together, you contribute to families receiving coordinated and adapted support at the right time.
Your main responsibilities:
- receive families in our advice and support area and conduct therapeutic conversations
- meet parents in conflict and work with the "Hela Barn" (Whole Child) conversation model
- conduct crisis conversations in the event of major incidents or individual crises
- develop and conduct training on network work at least once a year
- lead network-gathering meetings, such as family councils and network meetings.
You will collaborate closely with schools, preschools, health and medical care, child psychiatry, and other parts of social services to create coordinated support. The work is based on systemic theoretical perspectives and Signs of Safety, and you will become an important part of the team around the investigation units. This role suits you if you want to contribute to security, clarity, and sustainable solutions for families in Botkyrka Municipality.
We Offer You
Open Care Family is part of the social services' outpatient care and consists of approximately twenty employees with competence in family therapy, parenting support, victim support, support for children exposed to violence, and network work. You will become part of the Counseling Reception, a team of six colleagues working closely with two team leaders and a unit manager. We collaborate closely with the investigation units and other parts of social services, where joint planning and coordination of measures are a central part of the assignment.
With us, you will have good opportunities to develop in your professional role through, among other things, ongoing competence development in systemic theoretical perspectives and Signs of Safety. You will receive support through regular external supervision and internal supervision groups. We value a sustainable work environment and offer flexibility where possible. As an employee in Botkyrka Municipality, you will become part of an organization that values engagement, collaboration, and professional treatment, where your work makes a concrete difference in families' daily lives.
You Who Apply to Us
You have a degree in social work or another academic degree that the employer considers equivalent. You have previous experience of therapeutic work with children and parents, both individually and together with whole families.
We consider it meritorious if you have:
- Further education in therapy, for example MI, Signs of Safety, or Hela Barn.
- Experience of leading network-gathering meetings and training in the field, for example network leader training.
- Experience of working with FIT Outcomes (Feedback-Informed Treatment).
- Experience of systemic family therapy.
As a family therapist, you are collaboration-oriented and relationship-building. In your work, you build trusting contacts with families, colleagues, and other actors participating in network meetings. Your responsiveness allows different perspectives to have space and makes conversations more open and respectful. The ability to create good relationships contributes to meetings becoming safe, constructive, and focused on shared responsibility.
You are structured and can plan and organize measures according to the families' needs. When situations change, you find ways forward and use good judgment in both acute and long-term situations. Your ability to adapt solutions based on different family constellations and networks contributes to the possibility of maintaining direction in a cohesive support throughout the entire process.
For positions at the Social Services Administration in Botkyrka Municipality, you as a future employee will undergo a background check.
