The HR Department

The HR Department is tasked with creating the conditions for a business-driven, professional, accessible, and equitable HR support within the Swedish Police Authority. The department is responsible for the authority's overarching work in areas such as workforce planning, competence development, recruitment and staffing, employer policy/agreements, leadership and employee management, working environment, and culture.

HR Business Partnering (HR-nära)

The main mission of HR Business Partnering is to handle and support the business's needs within the HR area based on local conditions within the region, as well as to support all police districts and units in the region. HR Business Partnering works as close to the business as possible and acts as a consultative support in all types of HR issues. HR Business Partnering works, among other things, to support and strengthen the business's managers in providing conditions for an employee-driven development work with the goal of developing the police's core business. HR Business Partnering also works to drive and support the implementation of processes and contributes to development work within the HR area together with specialists in various fields. HR administrative work also occurs.

HR Business Partnering, which is the business-proximate support to the departments, belongs to the HR Department and is organized into three sections. There are a total of 11 departments, such as HR, the IT Service Department, and the Communications Department.

Our employees consist of HR Partners, HR Consultants, HR Specialists, and Recruitment Consultants, and together we constitute the business-proximate support for management and managers within the departments.

As an HR Partner, you will work with one or more of the national departments.

Job Description

In your assignment as an HR Partner, you are responsible for, together with your colleagues, translating common HR strategies into the operational business and supporting managers and leadership in taking on the delegated employer responsibility. You provide direction and support based on the business's needs regarding the realization of strategic directions within the HR area. You contribute to developing effective management and leadership of the business. The assignment also includes the ability to provide operational support in more complex HR issues within, for example, labor law, working environment, compensation, workforce planning, and leadership supply.

Individually or together with HR colleagues, you plan and implement workshops, training, and information initiatives that strengthen our managers in their employer role, with the aim of developing both the business and the manager in their leadership role.

In the assignment, you may also participate in, among other things, national networks, projects, and development work where you contribute with your experience and competence with the best interests of the Police Authority in focus.

Qualifications

This is an opportunity for you who have:

  • Academic education in the HR area or academic education that the employer deems equivalent
  • Several years of current experience of a broad HR role, such as HR Partner or another equivalent role
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
  • Experience of a corresponding role within the public sector and/or a large and complex organization
  • Swedish citizenship

It is meritorious if you also have:

  • Substantial experience of independently driving development assignments, which the employer deems relevant for the position
  • In-depth competence in workforce planning and leadership development
  • Good knowledge of labor law
  • Experience of union negotiations/union relations
  • Relevant experience of executive team work
  • Experience of working in a staff/secretariat role

Personal Attributes

To succeed in the assignment, you should be confident and well-anchored in your HR role. You have a good holistic view, enjoy working both operationally and strategically in your support to the business. You have the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with different tasks and situations and like to take on new challenges. You need to be self-driven and proactive.

You have good collaboration skills and the ability to build trusting relationships and have a reflective approach.

Furthermore, you are result-oriented, structured, and unpretentious. You have good pedagogical and communicative skills. High integrity is a given when working within HR and the Police Authority.
