We are looking for a Junior Java Cloud Developer to join our team at Volvo!

About the Team – Mobile Experience
The team is located at Lindholmen in Gothenburg and focuses on customer-centric features within connected car services. We develop solutions covering the full stack for remote app functions, including features like remote climate control of the car via smartphone or smartwatch, allowing users to step into a warm and comfortable vehicle. We also enable customers and third parties to interact with the cars, for example in smart charging and fleet management.

What the Role Entails
In this role, you will be part of a highly qualified agile team developing cloud-based software. The main focus is on designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining parts of the next-generation cloud-based backend for car-connected remote functions. The work involves close interaction with vehicles in the cloud, using modern tools, microservices, and new technology. You will continuously have the opportunity to learn from colleagues, influence working methods, and contribute to building innovative solutions.

There is also an opportunity to broaden your competence and explore other system areas such as mobile applications and embedded systems.

Who We Are Looking For
We believe the ideal candidate is at the beginning of their backend career, with less than five years of relevant experience. The candidate should have good communication and analytical skills, a proactive approach, and a problem-solving attitude. We are looking for someone who is flexible, structured, engaged, self-driven, and able to work both in a team and independently.

For this role, it is important that the candidate is proficient in Java programming, has experience in cloud-based backend development, is curious to learn new technologies, and prioritizes quality. Fluent English (spoken and written) is required, as well as familiarity with tools such as Git and Jira.

Competence Requirements
We expect you to meet all the following mandatory requirements, and this should be clearly stated in your CV:

• Driver's License
• Fluent in Java
• Knowledge of AWS or Azure
• Experience with Spring Boot and microservices
• Experience with SQL databases (e.g., Postgres, Cassandra)
• Experience with Kubernetes
• Experience with Docker

Value-Added Requirements:

• Experience with gRPC or REST
• Experience with Grafana, PagerDuty
• Experience with Kafka
• Experience with MQTT
• Experience with Postman
