The Multilingualism Unit is an operation consisting of a large team of approximately 34 teachers who provide study guidance and instruction to around 750 multilingual children and students spread across most preschools and schools throughout Varberg Municipality (currently offering approximately 22 languages).

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a mother tongue teacher, you are responsible, together with relevant colleagues, for the students' continued language development and goal achievement. A solution-focused and independent working style within the team is a prerequisite for a successful learning environment. You will primarily work with study guidance at the upper secondary and compulsory school levels, as well as language support in preschools. However, mother tongue instruction in compulsory and upper secondary schools may also be relevant. Individual interpretation assignments within the Multilingualism Unit regarding the assessment of newly arrived students may also arise.

QUALIFICATIONS

Your work is highly independent, but you will also be part of a team and various development groups; therefore, good collaboration skills and strong Swedish language skills (Swedish 3 or equivalent) are required.

You will work at several different locations, so a driver's license and access to your own car are mandatory requirements.

We are seeking a mother tongue teacher for instruction and study guidance in Bulgarian, as well as language support in preschools. We require you to have a teacher education or other pedagogical education and experience. You should thrive in an environment that demands high standards of punctuality, responsibility, flexibility, initiative, high service levels, and social competence.

You must be able to work and communicate digitally via learning platforms, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite/Classroom. Please describe your digital competence in your application.

Varberg Municipality has a political decision regarding desired employment rates. This means that the employee has the right to work full-time or their desired part-time hours.
