The Education and Labor Market Administration is responsible for employment-promoting measures, integration issues, and education at the upper secondary and post-secondary levels. Peder Skrivare High School (PS) offers several national high school programs that can be combined with developing education in sports, Young Entrepreneurship, Technical College, or Care and Nursing College. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a teacher in the technology program, you play a key role in preparing students for higher education, primarily in technology and natural sciences. You will have a particular responsibility for the specialization in Community Building and Environment (TESAI), which means you will plan and lead instruction in the courses that define the profile: Architecture, Construction, and Sustainable Community Building. Architecture levels 1 and 2, where the focus is on the design of buildings and spaces considering aesthetics, technology, and sustainability; Construction level 1, where you teach building technical systems, building physics, materials science, and dimensioning. Sustainable Community Building, focusing on urban planning, infrastructure, and the laws governing the construction process from an economic, social, and environmental perspective. It is also important that you can guide students in the use of digital tools such as CAD and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) to produce drawings and models.
You clarify the goals of the instruction and communicate these in an understandable way to the students while assessing their achievement of goals and assigning grades according to the curriculum. You will be a mentor for a class in the technology program. As a mentor, you play an important role in supporting students by having a good understanding of their needs, following their studies, and actively working to help them achieve their high school diploma. You build strong relationships with the students and maintain regular contact with guardians to create a safe and supportive learning environment.
Through collaboration with teaching colleagues, student health services, and school management, you contribute to creating a positive school environment where students thrive, develop, and achieve their goals. You actively participate in various collegial contexts where you both share and develop your subject knowledge as well as your pedagogical and didactic skills. It includes handling tasks related to the school's chemistry labs, such as purchasing and managing laboratory materials.
To thrive in the role, it is important that you actively participate in the subject team’s work and appreciate collaborating with colleagues, students, and other staff at the high school. Together, you work to create the best conditions for each student's success.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who has a high school teacher's degree with the authority to teach Architecture levels 1 and 2, Construction level 1, Sustainable Community Building, and preferably also CAD. A professional background as an architect or construction engineer is highly meritorious.
You have an interdisciplinary approach and can alternate theoretical elements with practical, real-world case studies. You are familiar with digital technology and see it as a natural tool in technological development. You have the ability to incorporate issues of ethics, gender, and sustainable development as a natural part of the teaching.
You have a teaching license and are well-versed in the school's governing documents. With your pedagogical skills, you explain content and context clearly, adapted to different individuals and perspectives. You encourage dialogue, participation, and engagement in the classroom. You are a team player who enjoys collaborating to achieve common goals. You thrive in teamwork and see the value in working together for the benefit of the students. Your commitment and ability to build good relationships contribute to a positive and respectful work environment. You inspire and capture interest in the subject through clear and engaging communication.
Flexibility is one of your strengths; you adapt quickly to changing conditions and have a structured, goal-oriented approach. At the same time, you are open to trying new methods and approaches. You have a good ability to listen and show respect for others' perspectives, which creates security and belonging in the workgroup. You also see challenges and mistakes as a natural part of the learning process. You work independently and take responsibility for your tasks. You are proactive and act responsibly based on what the situation requires. Significant emphasis is placed on professional experience and personal suitability.
