About Vallhalla School

Vallhalla School is situated in a beautiful natural setting right in the middle of Oskarshamn's city park. Every day, 640 students in grades F-9 and at our two after-school centers are taught by approximately 85 educators. The school also includes an after-school club with evening hours for our teenagers. The educators are divided into 6 work teams with corresponding team leaders. The school's management group includes the principal, three deputy principals, and the team leaders.

At Vallhalla School, there is engaged staff with a positive and inclusive approach who want to give students a good school experience. The educators' experience and competence are utilized to achieve a holistic view and high quality. We have a genuine interest in school development based on the curriculum, school law, and current research. Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for someone who wants to go the extra mile for students with high absenteeism or those at risk of failing grades. In your role as a student coach, you must have the ability to see the students and meet them where they are to structure, coach, and support them in moving forward in their learning. You will collaborate with other student coaches and teachers, acting as support in both large and small groups, as well as individually with students inside and outside of teaching situations. Extensive contact with students and parents is part of the job, including collaboration with the home to increase school attendance.

The focus will be on achieving high goal fulfillment and good school attendance.

Together with the school leadership, work teams, student health team, and other colleagues at the school, you will work towards increased school attendance and promoting student development.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with adequate education, such as a social worker, behavioral scientist, or other education deemed equivalent.

You must have a great ability to meet students based on their conditions and create fine, functioning relationships with both the students, their guardians, and your colleagues. You need to be solution-focused, flexible, energetic, have good collaboration skills, be creative, structured, self-reliant, stress-tolerant, and have very good IT skills. You will also be responsible for attendance checks and contacting homes, participating in student health team meetings (EHT) and development work at the school, and meetings with students and guardians.

Experience of previously working as a student coach is an asset. Great importance is attached to personal suitability.
