Kalmarsunds Gymnasieförbund is a municipal association tasked with running and developing upper secondary education and municipal adult education for the member municipalities of Borgholm, Kalmar, Mönsterås, Mörbylånga, and Torsås. We have approximately 4,000 students and 600 employees distributed across our five schools.

Jenny Nyström School is one of the upper secondary schools within Kalmarsunds Gymnasieförbund, with over 800 students distributed across six national programs and three introductory programs. The school also offers adapted upper secondary education. We are a forward-looking school with an open climate that believes in both you as a teacher and our students.

Job Responsibilities

We are seeking a teacher to instruct in cooking, food science, and food hygiene as part of the Restaurant and Food Industry program. The position also includes visiting students during their work placement (APL) and assisting in securing these placement sites.

We operate with a one-to-one concept, meaning ICT is used as a natural part of the teaching.

The ideal candidate is flexible and creative, with good ideas on how to develop teaching and the school. If you have an open mindset, respect student diversity, are attentive to student needs, and have experience with digital tools, you are the right person for us.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is qualified to teach vocational subjects within the Restaurant and Food Industry program, or who has relevant professional experience and is willing to train to become a vocational teacher.

You should find it easy to collaborate with students, colleagues, and other school staff, and be interested in working in teams. It is important that you are eager to acquire new knowledge and develop your teaching profession.

Additional Information

Before a job offer is made, a satisfactory extract from the police criminal register for work in schools must be presented.

To strengthen Kalmarsunds Gymnasieförbund's ability to operate during heightened readiness, all permanent staff will be assigned to wartime duty.

The position will be filled provided it is not needed by surplus staff or that the necessary political decisions are made.
