Västerbergslagens Utbildningsförbund (VBU) is a municipal association providing upper secondary education, adult education, university college education, and commissioned training. We operate on behalf of the municipalities of Ludvika and Smedjebacken. VBU employs approximately 250 staff, serves around 1,800 students, and has an annual turnover of approximately 225 MSEK. We are currently looking for someone interested in joining us to work with our young people at the adapted upper secondary school. At VBU, there are two classes, and your task will be to work together with the responsible teacher to ensure students receive a high-quality education. Our students follow the individual program and therefore study subject areas.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide support for students' various needs related to the school's responsibilities.
• Assist in adapting teaching based on individual students' needs.
• Work to stimulate students' development and learning.
• Stretching and care tasks are also part of the job.

Qualifications

You must have adequate experience for the position and education at least at the upper secondary level, preferably with a focus on children and young people. You must demonstrate a strong ability to drive things forward, be self-reliant, and take initiative based on what is required in the moment to best support the teacher and guide the student. It is important that you are confident and can handle different students' personalities and expressions. You must be flexible and able to adapt your behavior to the situation and various needs that arise. You must be able to collaborate with colleagues, students, and parents.

Great importance will be placed on personal suitability. We also hope you have a willingness to learn what you need.

Merits

• Experience working with children/young people with intellectual disabilities (IF).
• Knowledge of AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication).
• Class B driver's license.

Employment Conditions

The position is a temporary substitute employment on a full-time basis for one academic year, but may be extended. Start date by agreement. We require an extract from the criminal register upon employment.
