Västanviks Folk High School in Leksand is now seeking a full-time sign language teacher. The position is a two-year contract or longer with the possibility of extension.

With us, you will work in an inspiring environment where sign language and folk education are at the center. You will teach sign language in all our various programs and courses – long courses, short courses, and commissioned training, both physically and digitally, as well as contribute to the school's development and pedagogical work.

About the position

As a sign language teacher at Västanviks Folk High School, you will work with teaching, planning, and development within the subject of sign language together with other experienced sign language teachers.

You will collaborate with experienced sign language teachers and be part of a team that is part of the school's teaching staff. You will have the opportunity to participate in the school's development work and will be offered continuous professional development.

The work is varied and gives you the opportunity to teach participants at all levels, from beginners to advanced, mentor adult participants, and participate in the school's joint meetings.

Main responsibilities

• Teach, plan, and develop sign language education

• Contribute to the school's other tasks and pedagogical development

• Participate in development work

Desired qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a sign language teacher education or equivalent

• Experience in planning and implementing teaching

Meritorious:

• Class B driver's license

About Västanviks Folk High School

Västanviks Folk High School is a nationally recruiting boarding school located in Leksand, with a branch in Stockholm. The school offers a wide range of education and courses in a sign language environment, as well as guesthouse and conference activities. In Leksand, we operate our own property, restaurant, and preschool.

Our operations are based on the values of folk education and are shaped according to the needs of society. The main authority for the school is the Swedish National Association of the Deaf.
