Västanviks Folk High School in Leksand is now seeking a full-time folk high school or high school teacher. The position is a permanent employment with a six-month probationary period.

With us, you will work in an inspiring environment where sign language and folk education are at the center. You will primarily teach in the general course, but may also teach in our other programs and courses – special courses, short courses, and commissioned education.

Teaching takes place both on-site and digitally. The position also includes contributing to the school's development and participating in pedagogical work together with colleagues.

About the position

As a teacher at Västanviks Folk High School, you will work with teaching, planning, guidance, and development together with other experienced teachers. You will work with participants with varying experiences and conditions, creating a safe and inclusive learning environment.

You will be part of a work team within the teaching staff, have the opportunity to be involved in the school's overall development work, including course development, and will be offered continuous professional development.

The work is varied and gives you the opportunity to teach different subjects, guide adult participants, and participate in the school's joint meetings.

Main responsibilities

• Teach, plan, and develop teaching in the general course and other courses

• Guide participants in learning processes and create supportive learning environments

• Assess participants' studies and progression

• Participate in the school's pedagogical development work and course development

• Collaborate with colleagues

Desired qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a folk high school teacher's degree, high school teacher's degree, or equivalent teaching qualification

• Has experience in planning and implementing teaching

• Experience in participant support and adaptation of learning environments

• Has a good ability to teach both physically and digitally

Desirable:

• Sign language

• Experience teaching at a folk high school or in a sign language environment

• Knowledge of and experience in guidance and adult education

• Driver's license class B

About Västanviks Folk High School

Västanviks Folk High School is a nationally recruiting boarding school located in Leksand. The school offers a wide range of education and courses in a sign language environment as well as guesthouse and conference activities. In Leksand, we operate our own property, restaurant, and preschool.
