About Mockfjärd School

Mockfjärd School is a F–9 school with approximately 400 students, beautifully located in a nature-friendly environment in Gagnefs Municipality. The proximity to forests and outdoor areas creates good conditions for varied learning where outdoor pedagogy and movement are natural parts of the students' everyday life.

In the same building, there is also a special needs school, after-school care, a community library, and the introductory program for high school, which contributes to a lively and multifaceted school environment.

The school is characterized by the guiding words joy, care, and safety, where good relationships between students and staff are the foundation for learning. Our work rests on a common value base aimed at creating a positive and inclusive learning climate where all students are given the opportunity to reach as far as possible in their knowledge development.

We actively work with health-promoting and preventive measures. Student health is a natural part of daily work and collaborates closely with teachers, creating good conditions for early intervention to meet students' needs.

The school has about 70 employees and a high proportion of qualified teachers. Collegial learning is an important part of our development, where we work systematically with reading and writing development and joint teaching development.

Students' perception of safety is high, and our work with student health and study environment shows good results, providing a stable foundation for continued development.

With us, you will be part of a school where collaboration, development, and engagement are at the center – and where you as a teacher have the opportunity to make a real difference every day.

Job Responsibilities

In your role as a teacher, you will be responsible for teaching in your subject areas of Swedish and English. An important part of this responsibility is to adapt the learning environment based on the needs you encounter at both the individual and group levels. One way to do this is to find alternative methods in your teaching to meet students where they are in their development.

You also need to easily create good contacts with guardians and be diligent in maintaining clear documentation regarding your students. You will individually and together with your colleagues plan, implement, and evaluate the educational work based on the school's governing documents, and with other mentors in the work team, you contribute to creating a whole around the student.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified teacher for grades 7-9 in the subjects of Swedish and English. If you have qualifications in more subjects, we would be happy to discuss the design of the position so that it meets your wishes as much as possible. You have good IT skills, and if you also have experience in using digital tools in a learning process, it is an advantage.

To succeed in this role, you need to have a good ability to plan your subject and lead your students based on the national curriculum. As a leader, you need to be able to see your students' varying needs and interests. You need to have an inclusive working method, based on good pedagogical insight with a well-thought-out view of knowledge and students. If you have knowledge and experience working with students' varying challenges related to NPF, it is an advantage. The position includes mentorship, so you also need to value the work of building relationships with your students.

Even though your main task is to be responsible for teaching in your teaching groups, it is important that you can have a holistic perspective where you have an interest in and work for the entire school's development efforts. For you to thrive in the role, it is therefore important that you place great value on collaboration with other professionals at the school, that you are structured yet flexible, and can quickly adapt to changing circumstances.

Conditions

This recruitment includes two positions. Both positions are 80-100% and are permanent, subject to the necessary decisions being made. The start date is August 10 or by agreement.
