Business Developer at PRV – Shaping the Future of Public Services

The Swedish Patent and Registration Office (PRV) is the authority for intellectual property rights. We work with new ideas at the forefront of technology and development to strengthen Sweden's growth and competitiveness. By increasing insight and the ability to monetize intangible assets, PRV contributes to an innovative and sustainable society. Our vision is for PRV to be a leading and obvious actor for the world's most innovative country.

We are an open and customer-oriented authority where our employees contribute with knowledge, a forward-looking mindset, and engagement. Welcome to develop with us at PRV!

Do you want to help develop the public services of the future – with a focus on legal security, efficiency, and smart digitalization? PRV is now seeking a Business Developer for the Business Development Unit who wants to drive change and create real value for PRV through support processes for the core business.

Responsibilities

Initially, the main part of the work will be to project manage the implementation of the Design and Trademark Department's new Front Office for submission services – the channel through which PRV's design and trademark applications are received. The project is ongoing and is scheduled to be completed by 2026.

As a Business Developer, you will have a central and varied role where you develop working methods and services in close collaboration with operations, IT, and other functions. You will drive initiatives that create value for both users and the organization, and the role combines strategic thinking with operational work.

You will contribute to the development of digitalization and AI in a responsible and efficient manner, acting as a vital link between operations and IT, ensuring that solutions meet the needs and goals of the business.

An important part of the work is to act as a project manager for internal projects when needed. The immediate priority is the Design and Trademark Department's new Front Office for submission services. The project is ongoing and is scheduled to be completed by 2026.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a project manager for internal projects when needed
  • Lead and participate in development initiatives and drive change management
  • Support the business throughout the entire development chain – from needs analysis to requirements and testing
  • Handle incidents and deviations while contributing to learning and improvement
  • Act as a product owner or support in that role when needed
  • Conduct investigations and feasibility studies as a basis for decision-making
  • Analyze and develop processes for increased efficiency, quality, and legal security
  • Identify areas for improvement and risks, and contribute to more uniform working methods
  • Develop digital services and e-services with a focus on usability and self-service
  • Ensure that AI is used in a controlled, legal, and responsible manner
  • Translate business needs into requirements and ensure solutions comply with regulations (e.g., GDPR, archival, and accessibility requirements)

Who are you?

We are looking for someone with a post-secondary education in fields such as systems science, engineering, or a similar area, or equivalent work experience deemed equivalent by the employer. You must have documented experience working as a project manager and conducting requirements analysis and testing. It is an advantage if you have experience in change management or have served as a product owner. Experience with the application and development of AI support for business operations is also an advantage. We consider previous experience with similar tasks in business development within the public sector as a merit.

As a person, you are analytical and structured. You are responsible and thrive in a coordinating role. You also enjoy working independently and leading projects to completion. You have a talent for communication and can adapt your message to different target groups within the organization. You combine a holistic perspective with the ability to dive into details and possess excellent collaboration skills. We place great importance on personal qualities. Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written, is a requirement.
