Your Assignment

The unit is located at the office of the Chief Legal Counsel. The Chief Legal Counsel reports directly to the authority's Director-General and has overall responsibility for ensuring that the authority's operations are conducted in accordance with laws and other regulations. The Chief Legal Counsel shall also ensure that the authority has appropriate regulatory support and is responsible for the legal support provided to the authority. The Chief Legal Counsel is supported in this assignment by the Deputy Chief Legal Counsel and two legal units, where the authority's lawyers are placed. The staff of the legal units consists of both qualified lawyers with a background as assessors and administrative law lawyers. One legal unit supports the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC).

The second legal unit supports FRA's other operations. As a qualified lawyer in this unit, your assignment will mainly consist of providing legal support to the authority's defense intelligence and information security operations. This support includes conducting legal investigations, handling consultations, and drafting and quality-assuring drafts of decisions, internal regulations, contracts, and agreements. You will also conduct internal training. In your daily work, you will have many contacts both internally within the authority and externally with the Government Offices and other authorities.

Travel is part of the job.

You Can

We are looking for you who have a Candidate of Law degree or a Master of Laws degree. You must also be qualified as a notary or have equivalent experience. The role requires experience of qualified legal work from another government authority, court, or equivalent. You have experience of working with complex legal issues and have good knowledge of public administration. You have very good legal knowledge. You also have a very good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and good knowledge of English.

It is an asset if you are a Court of Appeal or Administrative Court of Appeal assessor and if you have experience of working at the Government Offices. It is also an asset if you have experience from the defense or security sector.

We will place great importance on your personal qualities. You have a solution-oriented approach and a very good analytical ability. You are used to breaking down complex questions and problems. The job involves working both independently and in close collaboration with other lawyers and colleagues in other professional categories. It is important that you have good teamwork skills, very good judgment, and high integrity. At times, the work is carried out under time pressure, which requires your ability to work quickly without compromising legal quality. Focus can change with short notice, which requires flexibility. As a person, you are stable and find it easy to create, maintain, and develop relationships.

More Information

The workplace is located near Drottningholm, approx. 10 minutes from Brommaplan. Swedish citizenship is a requirement as employment at FRA implies placement in a security class. A requirement for employment is an approved security clearance with a register check. The security clearance will be carried out in accordance with provisions in the Security Protection Act. Employment entails an obligation to be assigned to war duties. We apply a six-month probationary period.
