An exciting opportunity is now available for an experienced Inventory & Costing Specialist who wants to contribute with expertise in inventory accounting and product costing during the client's ongoing IFS Cloud project. The role is central to ensuring quality and stability in financial processes related to inventory, costing, and ERP support. The assignment offers a chance to work closely with several business functions and play an important role in an organization undergoing change and development.

The Role of Inventory & Costing Specialist

The assignment involves responsibility for accurate inventory data, product costs, and period-end closing, as well as acting as Finance Key User in IFS. The role collaborates closely with Supply Chain, Operations, Business Control, and Accounting. It suits a consultant who thrives in cross-functional environments and combines analytical skills with structure, a holistic view, and an improvement-oriented approach.

Examples of Responsibilities
  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual closings related to inventory and COGS

  • Perform inventory valuation, reconciliations, and analysis of production variances

  • Ensure quality and consistency in master data within inventory and costing

  • Monitor transaction integrity and manage discrepancies through root cause analysis and corrective actions

  • Support Standard Product Cost processes, including updates and validation

  • Contribute with cost analysis to Business Control during month-end closing and forecasting

  • Function as Finance Key User in IFS regarding costs, price lists, inventory transactions, and master data

Your Background, Experience, and Skills

This role is suitable for you who have an academic background in finance, accounting, industrial economics, or similar. You have worked 3–5 years in inventory accounting, cost accounting, or controlling and feel confident in issues related to inventory valuation, COGS, and period-end closing. You are accustomed to working in ERP systems, and experience with IFS is a significant plus. To thrive in this assignment, you need to understand standard costs and how manufacturing flows work, while also working analytically, structured, and being willing to tackle complex data sets. Excel is one of your primary tools, and you communicate and collaborate easily with different parts of the organization.

You Are Offered

The assignment provides an opportunity to contribute to an important function where the focus is on stable, accurate, and efficient financial processes for the client. The work takes place in an organization that is undergoing a transformation related to a larger ERP shift, which provides good opportunities to be involved in the development and improvement of methods and working practices. The role is performed in a hybrid work model with two fixed office days per week, and there is a possibility of extension or, in some cases, a long-term solution with the client after the assignment ends.

Good to Know

The assignment is expected to start in early May and run until April 2027, with the possibility of extension. The role is based in Stockholm and offered in a flexible hybrid arrangement.
